Nick Dellow advises that the campsite shots were definitely filmed in the Orchard on the Pinewood lot. It was very cold and muddy during shooting. Kenneth Williams’ diaries of the time mention spraying the muddy ground with green paint in a desperate attempt to make it appear nice and grassy! This was obviously only a partly successful attempt as one can clearly see muddy patches in the film.
