Steiger about to board a stagecoach and rob it. Off the A-349 north of Tabernas.

  • 'Now' required

A building near the Tabernas area of Spain, no longer standing.

  • 'Now' required

Steiger surveys much hillier terrain.

First appearance of Coburn

This is a rough road just to the west of Rodalquilar, behind Las Minas. SJ

Steiger surveys Coburn's bike as he passes.

image no 5

The mines area of Rodalquilar, not too far from Indio's hideout in For A Few Dollars More. SJ

Coburn approaches Steiger

Possibly in the hills around Mini Hollywood, near Tabernas in the Almeria region of Spain.

And again

Found and taken by David Lippiatt, as are others credited to DL. (SJ)

I think Coburn is overlooking Mini Hollywood.

image no 9

Slightly wrong angle but this one is an accidental match, see the pink coloured road to the right. SJ

<?php echo 10; ?>

A repeat of Capture 9.

... As DL has achieved a better angle on this than I. (SJ)

Same area.

Now, DL.

And suddenly Guadix cathedral the other way. Guadix is 50 miles away.

Valli in the hills of Almeria near Tabernas.

<?php echo 26; ?>

The bridge which is ambushed by Steiger and Coburn but that's Valli in shot.

image no 26

Not sure exactly where this is but it's a good match from DL: there's the bridge, or remains, in the middle. DL also points out that the top right of the "then" background (the distinctive hill) which appears in the middle of David's "now" also appears in The Good the Bad and the Ugly (20, 21) and For a Few Dollars More. Mass execution of the Azucarera of San Torcuato, north east of Guadix on the Avenida de Buenos Aires. The sugar factory was rather short-lived, opening in 1900 and closing in 1915.
