Documenting the ‘then’ and ‘now’ of movie locations worldwide.

ReelStreets is the study of commercially distributed cinema and television films with outside, recognisable, built-up locations and the changes that time, war or development may have occasioned. We are looking for location identifications, comparison shots, information, anecdotes or references to fill our pages and will mention anyone who helps, giving full credit to all contributors.

Comparison views from Google Earth, Bing Maps or other third parties are generally only accepted to support previously unidentified locations and will be added at the discretion of ReelStreets. A Google, Bing or other third party image will be overwritten when an original comparison shot is submitted.

All pictures submitted must be of landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not portrait.

To view the now location shot, just click on the screen capture’s dated tab.

Can you help? – Currently there are over 3100 films listed on the site featuring 79,000+ original screen captures with 43,000+ comparison shots and this is growing daily. If you have any information, read here to find out how you can get involved.
