Hitman takes on a protege but teaches him too well. SJ
Originally this ran to 18 grabs but Neil Rigby took the bull by the horns and took another, to date, 23 grabs and brilliantly sleuthed the locations.
Added info from Bruce (July 2014) Opening scene downtown buildings have "300" addresses. Red building Bronson crosses the street still there. Top of exploded building is still gone and boarded up. McDonalds now in parking area then. This is at 3rd St and Broadway.

mech001. Bronson in downtown LA ... now found to be between Wall Street and San Julian Street right in the heart of Los Angeles.
mech001n. After a false alarm, Neil Rigby had another go at this one, and that takes a special open-minded sleuthing ability. See the "S. C. Dodge" (blue in the "then"). That clinched it. East 5th Street by San Julian Park, LA 90013. Google/NR (Modern Photo Added: 29-01-2012)
mech002. Useful address in same scene as above in the opening dialogue-free sequence... 305 South Vermont Avenue, suggests Neil Rigby
mech002n. 303 East 5th Street, now the Los Angeles Mission, serving the homeless on "Skid Row" right in the center/centre of downtown LA, east of Pershing Square, seen near the finale of Speed (1994). Google/NR (Modern Photo Added: 29-01-2012)
mech003. Wynn at an LA beach, reminiscent of the one in Lethal Weapon where Mel Gibson lived in a caravan... nope, that was Dockweiler State Beach just to the north.
mech003n. Abalone Cove, Palos Verdes, California 90275. Streetview and Neil. (Modern Photo Added: 01-11-2011)
mech004. Same beach: this angle reminds of the final scene in the original Planet of the Apes... nope again though the south end of Westward Beach, Malibu (the actual location) has a similar cliff face.
mech004n. Abalone Cove, Palos Verdes, California 90275. Neil with one and the shape of the cliff is really captured by this shot. (Modern Photo Added: 01-11-2011)
mech005. Bronson and Vincent at a cemetery
mech005n. Calvary cemetery, South Eastern Ave, Los Angeles, California 90022. Neil (Modern Photo Added: 01-11-2011)
mech006. Road sign to the zoo in Griffith Park.
mech006n. And here's Google, Neil Rigby (Modern Photo Added: 01-11-2011)
mech007. Naples on the seafront.
mech007n. Via Ferdinando Russo, Naples 80123. Neil (Modern Photo Added: 01-11-2011)
mech008. Bronson in Naples, by the sea.
mech008n. Via Ferdinando Russo, Naples 80123. Neil (Modern Photo Added: 01-11-2011)
mech009. Nice Neapolitan lamppost.
mech009n. There's the lamppost now painted black on the right, and note the trees on the left. Identified as the Piazza del Plebiscito by Neil Rigby with steetview image to match. (Modern Photo Added: 21-10-2011)
mech009a. As above.
mech009an. There are two rows of lampposts and I think this is the right one as the lions on the ones on the other side of the piazza have a different orientation. SJ (Modern Photo Added: 23-10-2014)
