One Wish Too Many 1956Anthony Richmond, Rodalind Gourgey, John Pike, Terry Cooke, Arthur Howard, Sam CostaEast London
Director : John Durst   Production Company : Realist Films.

A young boy finds a magic marble that grants him any wish he wants. One day he wishes for a giant steam-roller, and it starts to trash London.

Greg provided these stills: owtm001, owtm003, owtm006, owtm007, owtm008, owtm009, owtm010. Denys kindly sent in owtm002, owtm004, owtm005, owtm011, but as we haven't a copy of the movie it is a little difficult to comment. The other wonderfully detailed information is held on these sites:
http://www.britmovie.co.uk/forums/film-locations/28475-one-wish-too-many-1956-a.html
http://www.kiddiematinee.com/1wish2many.html
East London and Barking in Essex seem to be the locations, with Market Square appearing, but the School......................ummmmmmm.
Perhaps Denys will send in the rest of the pics that he has grabbed so that we can load all those shots with external, architectural details and which contain an actor.
Greg discovered the real site of the school, and he lives a couple of thousand miles away. Now that is serious sleuthing!
This movie is available on a swap/exchange/barter basis - see our wants/swaps information page. It is a VHS PAL video copy. If you would like to swap/barter or exchange one of your tapes, videos or DVDs for this copy then look at the movies/films listed by geographical area pages - our wants are shown in black - to find out which films I require and for which I will exchange one of my videos or DVDs.

Can you identify any of the real streets for this movie?
We are always looking for more help with identifying these filming locations and would be grateful for any positive identifications, snippets or references you can offer about these movie making locations.
More details here

Lansbury Road School is a fake sign, says Greg. The school used for One Wish Too Many was St Philip Howard School (Secondary) / The Blessed John Roche Roman Catholic School (Secondary) (both now closed), Upper North Street, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, London, E14 6ER.
