Can you help:

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Coming out of the title sequence, Bond's DBS heads for the Palácio (actually in the other direction). Vince Edwards also drives up here in "Hammerhead": the bay in the background is the same as in hammer006.

It's a private road to the Vinhas Estate, Herdade do Zambujal. Nick again with additional stills and matching nows.

Herdade do Zambujal near Setubal, south of Lisbon.

The bullring and house are part of the same (vast) estate which still breeds Lusitano horses and produces cork and wine (Ermelinda Freitas). I was being shown around by the estate manager, by prior arrangement, so I couldn't really climb up on the wall and scamper along the top to get the exact matching angle. Nick

After "winning" the Stock car race against Irma Bunt and her henchmen, Tracy and Bond run into a blizzard. Because the 1969 Mercury Cougar slowly runs out of petrol, James looks around for a shelter.

shows exactly the same spot on the Heiligenschwendi road in direction of Goldiwil, in drier weather. This is north-west of Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. Found by Manuel G, whose summery google shot from November 2019 is replaced by Remo Leuenberger who lives only a couple of minutes away and was able to match the season (SJ)

The Cougar turns into the access road of the nearby farm.

The comparative view towards the large Bernese style farmhouse, located at Obers Äbnit 335 in the municipality Heiligenschwendi above Lake Thun. Manuel G's google replaced by Remo's wintery shot. (SJ)

A barn, possibly (cited by some sources) in Winteregg which is on the way to Murren via an charming funicular, dismantled and replaced by cable car in 2006, from Lauterbrunnen. An electric train then takes one along a plateau to Murren with a passing track at Winteregg. What is not so certain is how they got a car up there... and after ten years, Manuel has the answer to all this before and after this shot.

Remo promised to get a close-up of the barn and here it is. He admits that it was not possible to take the picture from the exact same angle as there's a fenced area with cows and the vehicle detracts somewhat. But this has been a long awaited "now" and much welcomed. (SJ)

The next morning Blofeld and his men reach the farm. The barn is already deserted, but soon they are on the heels of Bond and Tracy. Through the gaps in the barn one can see the pursuers, as they ski down from the Winterberg hill, located above Heiligenschwendi.

Jon Opstad send this additional screen grab which was the start of the bobsleigh run at Allmendhubel, above Mürren. Apparently reachable by mountain railway (when it's running) or hiking from Mürren.

Jon adds that the run is now a dirt track and can be hiked. Whilst the hut was the start of the run, the shed no longer exists but the bench is in the same place. A good angle from memory Jon! (RL)

And back to the jewellers in Lisbon.

Gary Miller provides a shot as it is now... pedestrianised (RL)

And to Setubal ? ... Neil Rigby advised in June 2015 that this is close to the bullring scene in captures 8 & 9. The actual position being east of Setubal co-ordinates, 38.56601476 -8.73109996.

Neil's google image now replaced with Nick's original. Nick adds that the fountain in front of the house is new, the buildings over to the left were there at the time of the film, I was told, but you can't see them on screen as they were covered with ivy. The stork nesting to the left of the cross on the roof is new.

And this is capture 40 repeated...

... mainly because Nick attended the 50th anniversary party on the 1st June and modestly suggested that we replace his 37 now capture. But both are splendid and what's more this update is taken from a new building at the end of a “Walk of Fame”; the things that look like tombstones are photos and handprints of the cast and crew, all erected since 2013.
