Location Walks
ReelStreets Tours grew out of the meetings which the site’s Founder John Tunstill used to arrange once or twice a year as a means of socialising with his growing band of researchers and contributors. They were held in a pub on London’s Vauxhall Bridge Road which had no connection with any films that we know of, but was close to Victoria station and the train home. The question was asked “Why don’t we meet in a pub that has appeared in a film?”, which was deemed a good idea, so a short pub crawl of the hostelries around Maida Vale was arranged and is the first download listed below.
Today’s tours are more of a self-guided affair and these sheets are provided to let participants know what films have been shot in the locations indicated. When following the tours a mobile device is useful if you wish to make comparisons as there’s not enough room to show captures from all the productions featured.
Our customary Seasonal Meeting Tours always involve a walk, of up to or around two miles, taking in locations used in films appearing on our Site. Each walk concentrates on a specific area and is accompanied by a ‘walking sheet’ providing the route and some of the related screen captures. We are conscious that not everyone may be able to attend some or all of the Meetings or indeed might prefer to undertake them at their own leisure, so we have decided to make these routes available to download. They can be accessed by clicking the link below.
