Heathrow, just like Blind Date

The main gate to Wandsworth Prison on Heathfield Road in Wandsworth. The popular location features in many films including ‘There Was a Crooked Man’, ‘The Cracksman’, ‘Calculated Risk’, ‘Law and Disorder’, ‘Out of the Fog’, 'Face of a Stranger', ‘The Criminal’, ‘Saloon Bar’, 'The Time of His Life' and ‘Poor Cow’.

If only they had kept the same parking bays. The wall, as we know, is another subject.(RL)

This really looks like Battersea, but they say that this style of gasometer, or gasholder was a German pattern, and several of them were in use in London, some 30 odd years ago. Neil Rigby courtesy of "Harryshand" Britmovie advises that this is/was Lavie Mews, London W10 now redeveloped. (RL)

RB presents a scaffolding-free shot. "There were originally three arched doorways, as seen in The Square Ring. By 1972, the left one had been partially bricked up. The right hand opening is hidden behind the actor. The centre of the three doorways has since been similarly partially bricked up. The height of the top of the left hand and centre arches differs, and the centre and right hand arches are separated by a small arched window." (SJ)
