If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

This looks like Beggar's Bush Barracks to John Larkin, and not Kilmainham Gaol (as we know it here in Dublin). I'll check this out soon. Richard Callanan says: I can confirm this is Beggars Bush Barracks on Haddington Road, Dublin. The shot is taken from outside the main gate looking NW. The two windows visible in the building behind the wall in the first frame were my bedroom 1945-62! That room was later used as the Abbey Green Room in the film 'The Young Cassidy' I'll try to get photos on my next visit to Dublin. The buildings are modernised and privatised but the architecture from about 1815 remains basically intact. Thanks for the confirmation, Richard.

This looks seriously like Little Venice where "Georgy Girl" was made. Yes it is Little Venice by Maida Vale. I grew up there and am 100% certain, Aidan McManus.
Confirmation from Peter that this is the Maida Vale end of Blomfield Street in W9. Credit also goes to Raul who put Peter right and, like Aidan McManus, also lived in the area.

Andrew Brennan tells us; Mountjoy Prison from the Royal Canal, Phibsborough, Dublin. Photo by David Brennan. Mountjoy is the actual setting for Brendan Behan's play. Film used "open to the public" Kilmainham Jail for interiors and Beggars Bush for exteriors. Mountjoy accessible by failing to pay parking tickets.

Shamrock Hall reads the sign . . . a location found by Pat Cleary to be situated on the corner of Quinsborough Road and Strand Road at Bray in County Wicklow, just down from the railway station.

In Pat's comparison, the covered outdoor area conceals the pillars that survive, albeit without the entrance doors.

Part of the River Liffey montage seen on Patrick McGoohan's arrival in Dublin near the beginning. Joseph O'Dowd points out that, across the river stands the gasometer on Sir John Rogerson's Quay. The gasometer appears in 'Ulysses', 'The Face of Fu Manchu', 'Tim Driscoll's Donkey' and 'The Big Gamble' while with this stretch of the Liffey opens 1958's 'Rooney'.

Pat Cleary tells us that the foreground Talbot Memorial Bridge was opened in 1978 and, seen in the distance, the Tall Ship is a replica of the Jeanie Johnston that carried thousands of Irish emigrants to North America during the Great Famine in the 19th century. A very popular tourist attraction.

Another part of the montage. The Four Courts on Inn's Quay, Dublin. David Brennan advises that the building was named on its completion in 1796 for comprising the courts of Chancery, Exchequer, King's Bench and Common Pleas. The iconic building can also be seen in 'Shake Hands With the Devil', 'Dublin Nightmare', 'Another Shore', 'The General', 'Johnny Nobody' and 'Rooney'.
