Can you help:

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Tower Bridge, probably from the Tower of London side.

Indeed so. SJ.

The redevelopment of this site prevents one from capturing this shot from further back. The expansion of Tower Pier is clear to see. (RL)

One of those new blocks between Tower and London Bridges, now falling into decay and desuetude.

Three Quays Walk. All boarded up and so a reverse shot. SJ.

The screen capture location has been totally absorbed into the redevelopment of this site, however, the view of the opposite shoreline remains from Three Quays Walk. The cluttered scene that has built up over the intervening 64 years is largely made up of 'Tower Millennium Pier' foreground, HMS Belfast moored in 1971 midground, and in the substantial background development stands 'The Shard' innaugurated in 2012. (RL)

Same place.

Three Quays Walk from the north. SJ.

Mmmmnnnn???

The Paragon, Blackheath SE3. SJ.

Lovell's Wharf was a scrap wharf on the corner of Ballast Quay and Pelton Road, Greenwich SE10 until 2001 (still marked on most A to Z's). Well done Simon Rainey, thank you, just testing!

Yes Lowell's Wharf SE10 and the writing's still on the wall. SJ. See London Film Location Guide for similar photo.

This is Ballast Quay, an extension of Lassell Street, and shows a fine row of miniature Georgian houses called Union Place with little wooden porches and balconies: all just as before. Simon Rainey sent in these corrections and additional information. Thank you.

It is indeed. SJ.

Do you remember those motors?
I believe the vehicle is a Nash Metropolitan, then an American Motors company. Roy Barnacle.

Opposite the Cutty Sark, Ballast Quay, London SE10, also seen in The List of Adrian Messenger. SJ.

Margate!!!???, No, I jest, just an over enthusiastic frame grabber!

Given the following grab/capture, this is the comparative view from the current century. SJ

Coming from the riverside walk into Ballast Quay, (to the right), Pelton Road (to the left).

Now. SJ.

Coming from the riverside walk into Ballast Quay, (to the right), Pelton Road (to the left).

The house dead ahead of Stewart Granger in st010 is just before Union Place and is a fine Harbour Master's House for the ballast quay: still there completely unchanged. Location and pic by Simon Rainey.

The side door of the Harbour Masters Office shown in st010. All info from Simon Rainey.

21, Ballast Quay. Similar photo in London Film Location Guide.

County Hall, Lambeth / Waterloo, London, SE1.

Addington Street where there used to be a police station and now the Park Plaza Hotel. SJ.

County Hall area.

Now. SJ.

Might be the gardens near the Tower of London.

Wapping Pier Head, E1, now rather more private. SJ.

Probably the site of the great rotunda, that became a cinema, and now??..?

Now. SJ.

Nice old bus, in front of County Hall, Westminster Bridge, Lambeth side, "Genevieve" territory.

Now with bus. SJ.

Tower Bridge, "Pool of London" and "Brannigan".

Granger is walking north towards the Tower. SJ.

Site of Tower Hotel.

Actually, looking the other way towards where they docked in Pool of London. SJ.

A bridge in the background, but which one? Probably London Bridge as our hero is /was in the Tower Bridge area.

Yup, London Bridge. SJ.

The moored boat is on the left, or south side, where the Belfast now is, when looking from Tower Bridge.

And there's the Belfast. SJ.
