If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Yes, it is Castle Cornet next to the south battery. SJ

On the east side of the castle near the Master Gunner's Garden. That's brother Robin in Adjani's shoes. SJ

The firing of the noonday gun at Castle Cornet.
Or is it? The noonday gun is fired to the north over the harbour. This is the Well Battery which is facing the sea to the east. SJ. And, what is more........... an incongruous detail that the film's producers seem to have overlooked. "The empty gun emplacement behind appears to be built of concrete, i.e. a WW2 fortification added by the occupying German forces. That would make it totally at odds with the period that the film is set in. I don't know Castle Cornet very well, as I live in Jersey. But that gun emplacement (and the nearby steps) look very much like the German fortifications added to our old castles over here." Andre Ferrari.

St Peter Port somewhere.

This may be Government House, Queen's Road, the Lieutenant Governor's official residence... But it isn't, for after nearly 10 years this mystery is solved by Steve Randall. It's Havilland Hall built by Lt. Col. Thomas Fiott de Havilland, ca. 1828, not too far away in Le Vauquiedor, St Andrew's, and the largest (and very) private estate in Guernsey.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release, I revisited the area for some updates. SJ

Back in 2009 I couldn't pinpoint this. I'm still not sure but an opportunity to keep it in the family (see comparison 7) with sister Katherine on a dog stroll. SJ

A wider shot to show the same slope but incorporating the rock in the foreground. And the bracken was quite challenging here. SJ

The rocky promontory at Pleinmont in the south-west corner of Guernsey. At the end of Rue du Portelet, walk down Rue de la Varde until one can see the Hanois lighthouse directly west.

Again I was unsure of this back in 2009. I thought Adjani was by a wall but I think it's just natural rocks with a higher tide in the background. The camera avoids allowing the lighthouse to appear in frame. This is just a little further south of the next shot so potentially the continuity is true. SJ
- Capture 22

Adjani rounds a corner heading north.
Now. SJ

No mistaking this. SJ

This would be the reverse pov of the above but it's hard to match the rocks. SJ
