Not yet grabbed but possibly ripe for a reboot as Dave Moore has identified the cinema with views of the box office as being filmed at the Regal Cinema in Wimbledon Broadway, along with the exterior of the police station as the one in Queens Road Wimbledon: both quite handy for Merton Park Studios.

Can you help:

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Maddern down a main street, passing Williams and Seymour Surgical Store.

Richard Lovejoy located Charing Cross Road, now redeveloped here but Phoenix House (a Cecil Gee shop then) remains with the Phoenix Theatre. Is that the same tree?

And that looks like a branch of Anello and Davide. This could well be the corner of Drury Lane & Dryden St, Covent Gdn. A & D had a shop on this corner. Go on Google, enter Dryden St, click on map, street view, click to right of 'Lowlander' to see location. Shop now occupied by 'Bloch' looks a likely candidate? Sorry - no photos - live in Adelaide! Regards Clive T. Well done from far away and down under. Thanks Clive.

But no! This is 96 Charing Cross Road on the corner of New Compton Street when Maddern was crossing, now pedestrianised. Now shot and information from Richard Lovejoy.

Romero outside the Marquis of Granby pub. If the pub name is correct then I suspect it could be the 'Marquis of Granby' at Rathbone St, Fitzrovia - the pillars etc look very similar! Regards, Clive Turner.

Clive is right, I think. Pretty good match. SJ.

And further down panning right. Actually a cut not a pan on a second viewing.

The view from the night club. With some reservation from Peter it turns out to be the junction of Moor Street and Old Compton Street. Also seen in 'Up Jumped a Swagman' and, from the other direction, in 'Go for a Take'.

In the end Peter and RL each came up with the same answer at the same time. (RL)

Almost impossible. A country scene but included as it may be IMDb's identification for a scene near Brighton in Sussex.

The shop is revealed as W.H. Mayall.

A well-railed terraced street...how about Platt St London NW1?
