Chris O'Donnell is still on the run. Here he speeds past the base of a windmill. This is actually not a set but is in fact a real working windmill near Retz in Austria.

Chris O'Donnell decides to use his initiative to deal with his pursuers in the grounds of the Retz windmill in Austria.

After taking a few of the pursuers out, D'Artagnan is about to learn that he just took out some of the Queens own bodyguards. All in the grounds of the windmill near Retz in Austria.

The flirty lady-in-waiting Constance (Julie Delpy) stops him next to the windmill near Retz, Austria and asks for some information. The stone bridge in the background may have been added by the film production.

Chris reaches Paris and the (ex)Musketeers HQ. These surroundings of Paris seem to have been built near the village church of Perchtoldsdorf in Austria (south west of Liesing). There are some computer generated effects in the background to add several buildings, especially the Musketeers HQ on the left of frame (which in reality is over 30 miles away!).

D'Artagnan winds his way through the apparent Parisian crowds (actually likely the village church of Perchtoldsdorf in Austria) unaware that his hopes of joining the musketeers are about to be dashed.

A cut to a different shot also jumps locations as we are now entering the Musketeer HQ building which is nearly an hours drive away at Castle Petronell, near Petronell-Carnuntum in Lower Austria, Austria.

After a suspicious husband ruins an intimate moment, Aramis (Charlie Sheen) makes a break for it and D'Artagan breaks his fall with the village church of Perchtoldsdorf, Austria in the background.

King Louis (Hugh O'Conor) arrives at the Royal Palace to deliver a complaint to Cardinal Richelieu (Tim Curry). The building in the background is actually the Austrian National Library in Vienna. Some internet sites just list 'Hofburg Palace (Neue Burg)' as the location. This can be confusing because an internet search for 'Hofburg Palace' normally brings up images of the front of the main building, with a balcony that looks similar to the one in the film, but is not the same. The actual location used in the movie is on the other side of the complex (and the arches are a fake!).

A band of the kings soldiers seek the musketeers with an unidentified building in the background. It is probably part of the film set construction in Perchtoldsdorf, Austria.

Chris O'Donnell heads to his duels with the Musketeers within the ruins of Burgruine Landsee, a castle ruin in the Austrian state of Burgenland.

The 3 become 4 when the kings men interrupt and attempt an arrest within the location of Burgruine Landsee castle in the Austrian state of Burgenland.

The fight breaks out in the ground of the Burgruine Landsee castle. The castle was built in the 12th century. The mighty complex is one of Europe’s biggest defensive structures.

Chris O'Donnell heads for the chopping block. This is back at Perchtoldsdorf, Austria. This is a mixture of location, set-buildings and a castle matt painting in the background.

D'Artagnan redistributes some of Cardinal Richelieu's (Tim Currys' wealth by throwing it out of the carriage next to the Pfarramt Perchtoldsdorf Catholic church in Perchtoldsdorf, Austria.

The boys roll the brandy-soaked and fiery carriage downhill and then run. This location is actually the outside of the same place used as the Musketeers HQ earlier. So they are outside Castle Petronell, near Petronell-Carnuntum in Lower Austria, Austria.

The pursuit continues with cannonballs being fired from Lichtenstein Castle, Austria. A camera-pan just to the left would show lots of houses, many of which have swimming pool in the gardens!

Chris O'Donnell is given strict instructions to head for Calais in order to head off the Cardinals messenger. He'll have quite a journey as he is actually riding alongside what is almost certainly the River Lerryn in the grounds of the Boconnoc estate near Lostwithiel in Cornwall, UK.

Following a reveal, the Countess continues with her captive to Calais. Kiefer approaches from the dark. In reality this is Charlestown harbour, Cornwall, UK.

Rebecca De Mornay is taken to her place of execution. Somewhere along the North Cornwall headland in the southern UK (likely very near Pentire Point).

Although she was saved by Keifer, with the deadly plot of Cardinal Richelieu revealed, she decides to jump to her death off of Pentire Point, with Rumps Point in the background. This is North Cornwall, UK.
