If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Opening shots of the movie show Coldstream Guards matching with the military band in the lead.

The difficulty of establishing the location has been that the film was flipped horizontally. Stable Yard, London SW1. (RL)

The movie then changes location as the Guards march from Constitution Hill, London into The Mall, London in front of Buckingham Palace, London.

From a similar viewpoint at ground level by Peter.

Outside The Queen's Chapel, Marlborough Road, London the crowd wait for the Guards to arrive. The location can also be seen in 'Wedding Rehearsal' and 'Stop Press Girl'.

That is surely not a Royal fox about to cross the road! (RL)

The camera changes position and from St James's Palace the crowds wait along Marlborough Road, London, we catch a glimpse of the Queen Alexandra Memorial And Statue in the background.

A clear view of the Memorial. (RL)

Here the Guards are arriving in Marlborough Road, London flanked either side by St James's Palace and The Queen's Chapel.

Pity about that road closure sign. (RL)

From inside the arches of St James's Palace, London the Guards march by in Malborough Road, London. The next shot is of the arches, but are a studio set at Shepperton Studios, London as is the house within St James's Palace and this is where the rest of the movie is shot.

These are the genuine arches. (RL)

One final exterior shot is of the taxi, called by Miles (Nigel Patrick), as it turns from Pall Mall, London into Malborough Road, a junction that features in ‘Carry On Emmannuelle’, ‘Cat & Mouse’, ‘The Ballad of Tam Lin' and ‘The Sandwich Man’ The movie then returns to the set for the closing scenes.

The taxi is almost in the right place. (RL)
