Screen captures and uncredited now shots uploaded by Richard Lovejoy
A few frames after Francis Templar is seen boarding a plane, an Avro Lancastrian Reg. G-AGMM with BOAC livery is seen taking off. Stock footage, as this plane crashed in 1949 and was withdrawn from service! Francis is later seen returning from America, once again, on an Avro Lancastrian with BOAC livery but this time G-AGMA. This is also likely to be stock footage as it was withdrawn from service in January 1951. “A30yoyo” of pprune.org Forum believes that G-AGMA is landing on 28R London Airport (i.e. Heathrow)….the chimney visible on the left at that time being Technicolor’s plant. “WHBM” of pprune.org Forum advises that BOAC did not fly Lancastrians to America.

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

The film opens with Francis Templar (Hugh McDermott) teeing off whilst playing golf with his wife Lucienne Templar (Kathleen Byron). Anthony Spencer tells us that it's definitely Seaford Head Golf Course in Sussex, you can see the cliffs beyond Newhaven in the background but that sign is suspect as the 10th is a short par 3 and faces in the opposite direction (north-east).

An additional shot, as the camera pans, to aid identification, a coastal course. I bet that development has grown. It is a fair bit further west than this spot but the clump of trees in the centre of the skyline leaves Anthony Spencer in no doubt that this is Seaford Head Golf Course on Southdown Road, Seaford.

After retrieving his ball from the cliff edge Mr and Mrs Templar receive a message from their butler, Baxter (H.G.Stoker), that a telephone call has been received from Mr Keylin Snr asking that Mr Templar returns to the office.

Action moves to the City of London. Royal Exchange and Threadneedle Street, London EC2 to the left.

All changed somewhat on the left hand side.

I thought that I knew the City of London but I cannot place this. Thanks to Peter's long term memory and the clock, he identifies this as Throgmorton Street from Threadneedle Street, London EC2

Peter's memory serves him well.

A view of Templar’s business office building before cutting to him at his desk. Christopher Matheson admits that he had a "light bulb moment" and came up with Piccadilly and the corner of Down Street, London W1.

Whilst the light was on I just had to provide the now. All except the main building remains.

Action moves to Johnny Keylin’s (Peter Reynolds) apartment where his father tells him that he is aware of his embezzling funds from Templar’s business. Ray Glenister says that this is Stockleigh Hall at 51 Prince Albert Road, London NW8. (RL)

Absolutely correct Ray and thanks to James for leading me to the correct corner.

- 16 May 2017

The apartment block of Mr and Mrs Templar’s pied-à-terre where, the night before, his financial problems had been aired. Clive Turner has located the block as Stockleigh Hall, which can also be seen in ‘No Place for Jennifer’, ‘One Wild Oat’ and ‘Smart Alec’.

To save his business, Francis has to go to America and we cut to an airport and the view of a Douglas DC-3 (with thanks to "WHBM" of pprune.org Forum) which "A30yoyo" of pprune.org Forum believes could be Northolt.

He doesn’t seem to be boarding that plane but maybe this was shot at Northolt.
