If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

The Sheffield and Tinsley Canal near Bacon Lane bridge at Attercliffe in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Aston Martin advises that the factories on the left were demolished a couple of years ago leaving only a brick facade with windows.

The canal at Bacon Lane in Attercliffe, Sheffield.

Since filming took place, Aston Martin found that the towpath edge has given way and fallen into the canal, hence why there is no iron hitch in the bottom of the picture.

Idsworth Road, Fir Vale

....bit further down the road

This is past no.29, elevated and set back from the road and now at no.31. SJ

The club

No. 31 is a furniture warehouse. SJ

Outside the club

No mistaking no.14 opposite the "club"/furniture store. The brickwork also remains distinctive while next door's hedge is less kempt. SJ

Schooldays . . . Burton Street, Hillsborough in Sheffield.

Trying to ignore the bins, Aston Martin tells us that he and his pals used to drink in the area and his good friends still run a pub at the bottom of the hill running to the school.

The school . . . Burton Street, Sheffield 6.

Aston Martin continues that the Priest at the school explained that the prop sign made for the school's name in the film was left behind but when a friend was finally planning to re-home it she found that it had been taken!

. . . once more. Burton Street again.

Aston Martin advises that the site is now operated by a trust and various rooms and buildings can be hired out. The job centre 'dance scene' was filmed here as well as other internal job centre scenes.

The Labour Exchange . . . . . is identified as being at the corner of West Street and Rockingham Street in Sheffield S1.

Aston Martin found that the building is still a job centre.

Ruskin Park, Daniel Hill Street

Coming up Blake Street

Aston Martin found that nothing much has changed here except the vehicles!

Blake Street, on the wall by 'is ear'ole

Although the pub had been closed down since filming took place, Aston Martin explains that a friend has reopened it, giving it new lease of life while maintaining a tradition look.

Ruskin Park Daniel Hill Street

Aston Martin's view shows that the small trees have grown and the children's play area has been removed adding that the white building on the corner of Blake Street to the top right, formerly an off-licence, is now a private house.

Shops on Stubbin Lane, Firth Park in Sheffield 5.

Moving towards the road to obtain a view, Aston Martin captures the same frontage which, for a change, has reverted to retail premises.

We thought that the red building was the club, but according to montymania it is Hyacinth Road. Darell Tomblin advises that the background was the Empire bingo hall in Station Road, Shirebrook, now demolished and replaced with flats and remembers the film crew being there. During the sequence when the camera looks to the other actors during the dialogue it is a different street. (RL)

Another school? Carter Knowle Junior School on Carter Knowle Road, Sheffield 7.

Yes, there is an actor in shot, a tiny figure on the walkway. Regent Court, Hillsborough.

Aston Martin explains that this is the rear of the flats which have since been renovated.

Aston Martin couldn't avoid those bins.

Moving completely away from the bins, Aston took this view from he middle of the road!

The junction of Granville and City Roads . . .

. . . revisited by Aston Martin who took the shot wider, from a distance and off angle to avoid today's street clutter.
