Storyline:
After leaving the British Secret Service to work as a private investigator, Harry Palmer is chosen by a computer for an assignment to take a package to Helsinki.

Whilst we do not have a screen capture of RAF Duxford being used as a location, Michael Flude remembers the filming and tells us that the Duxford area was covered in salt to simulate snow, and he remembers advertisements in the Cambridge News at time that said FREE SALT COME HELP YOURSELF.

Taken a while ago, but posted in 2013, while so much was boarded up. SJ

Boarded up for at least 8 years until the ground floor of the Lighthouse building emerged as a Five Guys in 2016. SJ

In the centre background is Porvoo Cathedral with the towns distinctive 'salt houses' along the riverside. Manuel Gurtner points out that this is not Porvoo station, it is a set constructed for the movie at the now dismantled siding alongside the riverbank of the Porvoonjoki.

Heading to rendezvous with the Latvian 'Crusade for Freedom' terrorists. From Porvoo back to Helsinki. Manuel Gurtner tells us that this is filmed on the Iso-Mustasaari island as part of the vast Suomenlinna sea fortress, located outside of the Finnish capital. In the background the then barracks and administration building of the Suomenlinna Coastal Artillery Regiment can be seen.

After a failed terrorist attack, Palmer is captured by the Soviets. Still filmed on the Iso-Mustasaari island in Helsinki, Manuel explains that this is looking along the barracks facade, visible in the previous capture on the left side. The military base was closed in 1973.

When Palmer is released by Colonel Stok he is taken to Texas to meet 'General' Midwinter at his mansion. Osterley Park House, Isleworth in Greater London.
Dave Wood took the same location now, without Midwinter's logo.

Near the Soviet border, double agent Anya departs on a train leaving Leo with Palmer. Manuel Gurtner advises that this scene was filmed at Nikkilä station on the broad gauge branch line from Kerava to Porvoo. Passenger traffic was discontinued in 1981 and the platforms and sidings have been dismantled since 1997.
