If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

  • 'Now' required

As with many movies filmed in the Second World War, most of the shooting is done using studio sets. This is the case with this movie. Here a train arriving at a station in Germany with Herr Muller (Will Hay) on board.

  • 'Now' required

Herr Muller, meets up with Lena (Anne Firth) on the station platform.

  • 'Now' required

Continuation of the same scene, Lena walks away from Herrr Muller. This shot is included as is the next still to help identify the location.

  • 'Now' required

Here Her Muller catches up with Lena his contact. Added this still to give more details of the station.

  • 'Now' required

At the German 'Spy' College, Herr Muller looks for a specific laboratory.

  • 'Now' required

Herr Muller sees a guard approaching. This shot, the previous one and the next one look like a real location, otherwise it is a case of another well designed set by Ealing Studios.

  • 'Now' required

Many German guards hunting for Herr Muller.

  • 'Now' required

Having gotten what he wnted, Herr Muller escapes outside the college in a fire proof suit.

  • 'Now' required

Having ditched the fire proof suit, Herr Muller returns to the college.

  • 'Now' required

The movie returns to the railway station with General Von Goltz (Julien Mitchell) waiting to board his train.

  • 'Now' required

With news of Herr Muller on the loose, German Officers are busy looking for him. Another view of the railway station which may help identify the location.

  • 'Now' required

The train arrives and we see this new angle of the station. Still gives the hint it is a very good set, just the train arriving gives the impression otherwise.

Finally we see William Potts arrive back in England, falling into a dust cart and being driven off in the distance. This is Whitehall, London SW1A with King Charles Street, off to the left.

Trees block the view of the distant domes in Peter's comparison.
