If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Tony Leighton took a trip to Hulme Priory but found the tree to the left had gone. (SJ)

Costner and Freeman arrive at the front door of the priory which plays Maid Marion's home.

Tony admits a lower and to the right shot would have matched more accurately: he thought the door looked a bit too new to be the original which may have been prop scenery anyway. (SJ)

This is a great match by Tony. And what growth on the right! (SJ)

Warren Sanderson believes this to be the suitably dressed Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene on Lock Path in Dorney near Windsor, Berkshire. Confirmed.

"It is indeed the church at Boveney on the path running alongside the Thames. It's very close to Eton Dorney, the 2012 Olympic rowing venue. The wooden porch in the capture is a studio prop. The real doorway is about 5ft high." Mike Armitage took this comparison on the 7th. (SJ)

Inside possibly Carcassone. imdb also mentions Calvados and Metz, France. Elvis Davis who has worked on many movies through the years advises that this is actually the back lot at Shepperton studios. A huge lot constructed to show the courtyard of the castle including the hanging rig. Supported by Steve Sumner, fireman with the SFX.

This does look like Carcassone.

A shot from Becci Heaton who took this over the wall before the bridge, seen in the capture. (SJ)
