Jody takes Jude away from the fair. Under the bridge that carries the Belfast to Dublin railway line.

After ambushing the couple, Fergus Hennessy (Stephen Rea) and his gang kidnap Jody. The railway bridge over the River Nanny in Laytown. the footbridge has been removed and replaced with a new one east of the bridge.

Jody is driven away to the gang's safe house. Newry Road facing Carrickasticken Road and the junction with Larkfield Road, Forkhill in County Armagh, Northern Ireland.

Fergus gets out of the car to help bundle Jody into the derelict cottage.

With a bag over his head, the captive is lead towards a greenhouse where he tells Fergus of his special friend Dil.

Fergus makes his way to England after Jody escapes and is killed by British troops as they raid the cottage. The ferry is passing North Bull Lighthouse outside Dublin Harbour and in the far left, Pat Cleary adds that the Bailey Lighthouse is visible at the tip of Howth Head in the distance.

The ferry departed about 20 minutes ahead of schedule and was well underway when Pat got there, not enough time to capture the vessel in the precise spot.

Having taken the name Jimmy, Fergus looks from the building where he is working. The spire of All Saints church is seen across Blackheath from Dartmouth Terrace, London SE10.

The spire and tree arrangement survive but the heath is much drier in this summer of '22. SJ

After the days work is done, Fergus heads to his lodgings. Crispin Street with Spitalfields Market on Brushfield Street in the right distance.

Needs a cloudier day. Once a women's refuge and opposite is Millers Court, E1, a Jack the Ripper site before it was covered by a carpark. SJ

Fergus enters the hostel. St Crispin's shelter on Crispin Street E1. The back of the building was seen in 'Omen III: The Final Conflict' and 'Nightbirds'.

The Metro was visible on the right side for quite a while. This improves the angle of my 21/2/14 effort. SJ

Fergus follows as Dil takes Dave back to her flat. The west side of Hoxton Square, London N1.

Fergus works whilst he remembers Jody and his dying wish that Dil is looked after. Dartmouth Terrace SE10.

On another evening, after meeting in The Metro, Dil is escorted home by the man she now knows as Jimmy.

Whilst walking one night, Dil asks if Jimmy wants a 'special friend' as Dave drives towards them. Hoxton Square looking towards Coronet Street.

Just a white building redesign at the end of the street, otherwise much the same. SJ

Dave pulls over after almost running Dil and Jimmy down. The south side of Hoxton Square.

The postbox seen in the "then" has moved out of sight to across the road. SJ

Dil appears at the window after taking the workman's lift up to where Jimmy is working. Blackheath seen from Dartmouth Terrace.

Taken from ground level and All Saints spire can be seen immediately right of the sign, the inclusion of which I should have avoided in this snap. SJ

Cat calls are heard as Dil leaves after Jimmy has escorted her down in the lift. Dartmouth Terrace SE10.

Up for sale when I visited. It's no3, and the painted white window frame distinguishes it from the almost identical others in the terrace. SJ

A car is heard as Dil and Jimmy talk before he returns to the hostel where he finds Jude waiting.

After being told that he was court-martial in his absence, Jimmy returns to the hair salon where he finds Dil cutting Jude's hair. Fournier Street, London E1. The street was seen in 'The London Nobody Knows'.

In a cab, a suspicious Dil follows Jude and Jimmy after he's taken away by car from outside The Metro. Coronet Street with Boot Street to the left.

The bar was closed for ages and fly posters took over. An update and improvement on the 21/2/14 post. SJ

In return for clemency, Fergus is asked to do a 'job'. Facing Eaton Place from Chesham Street in SW1.

The lamppost has gone but the postbox is still there. SJ

Fergus bumps into a Judge (Bryan Coleman), the target. Facing Chesham Street from Eaton Place. The location can be seen in 'The Invisible Asset' and 'His and Hers' as well as 'Foreign Exchange'.

Now: looks like the ex-pub gained a storey and a columned doorway. SJ

After he returns to Jude who was watching from a nearby bar, the two part company. Outside the Lowndes Arms, Chesham Street in Belgravia.

I remember enjoying a drink here in days bygone. SJ

With Dil wearing Jody's cricket gear, Jimmy leads her to a small hotel for safety. Crestfield Street in WC1 facing Euston Road.

Opposite King's Cross before its development. SJ

An update looking north alongside the former Northumberland Hotel and now The King's Cross Inn. The barriers are protecting the construction (left, out of shot) of a new development of a block demolished in 2023. SJ

On the day of the hit, Jude is picked up by Maguire. South Kensington station as seen from Pelham Street in SW7. The station also appears in 'Das Geheimnis der gelben Narzissen', 'Amelia and the Angel', ‘Something in the City’ and ‘Repulsion’.

Maguire and Jude wait in the car but Fergus hasn't arrived on the scene. The Lowndes Arms on Chesham Street in SW1. The pub closed in the late 1990s.

Apparently Alec Guinness joined in the protests against its closure. 37 Chesham Street. SJ

A near collision as the pair drive around, waiting. The junction of Chesham Street and Eaton Place.

The Judge leaves the building, and still no sign of Fergus. Eaton Place.

Police soon arrive after Maguire carries out the 'execution' in Fergus' absence.

This one kept us guessing for a while as the focus was on Belgravia. But it's Pimlico looking south-east down Denbigh Street from the intersection with Charlwood Street, SW1. SJ

After shooting Jude when she arrives at the flat, Dil runs from the building before the police arrive and arrest Fergus. Hoxton Square, London N1.

Being not quite the right height for an aerial view, Peter took this from ground level, wondering why the public space had become a van park!
