The Minor Wallop Local Defence Volunteers march into view.

George Singleton (George Formby) plays his ukelele and sings as the unit continues to march. A concrete roadway and the buildings in the right distance suggest an airfield.

The Lance Corporal is sent to the railway station to collect a machine gun that has arrived with no label.

George's motorbike is written off after he collides with Everett Manley (Ronald Shiner) from the rival Major Wallop volunteers.

After getting a lift on the back of a car loaded with livestock, George falls to the road when a large stone is run over.

George finally makes it to the station where Everett has already claimed the gun. Denham Golf Club station entrance lies to the left on Slade Oak Lane, Higher Denham in Buckinghamshire and a train running between Denham and Gerrards Cross passes over the bridge. Mike Storey advises that he actually owns the Morris 8 Tourer featured in this production and also 'The Demi-Paradise', adding that the March 1939 registered car, with number plate FLR 583, is currently awaiting restoration.
The original ticket office was demolished after a fire to be replaced by a GWR 'pagoda' style building in 2007. (PW)

Everett isn't impressed when George attempts to pull rank. Denham Golf Club station entrance on Slade Oak Lane, Higher Denham. The platforms at the station are seen in 'Fast and Loose', 'Futtock's End' and 'Hot Fuzz'.

With George at the wheel, the army attempt to stop Minor Wallop's home made tank when Everett reports it as belonging to the enemy during an exercise.

More troops set off in pursuit of the odd looking vehicle. Harman's Brewery was based in Uxbridge and, after making enquiries of the Brewery History Society's membership, Stephen Peck has identified this public house as The Breakspear Arms at the corner of Breakspear Road South and Breakspear Road in Ruislip Common, Middlesex. The pub was rebuilt in the mid 1970s.

The tank is driven into Major Wallop where the identity of the vehicle is found out by the army officers overseeing the exercise and George is promoted to Sergeant.
