Storyline:
A schoolboy witnesses a woman being stabbed in the back as she opens a secret compartment in the ruins of a bombed out church. In his haste to escape he drops “his” cap that has the name of his friend in it. Newspaper reporter Paul Banner is assigned to cover the story when the schoolboy friend is found murdered. As with British ‘B’ Films of the time he solves the mystery just before the Police.

A schoolboy, Jimmy Mumby (Edward French) witnesses a woman being stabbed with a knife as she retrieves a packet from the bombed remains of a church. He is chased, dropping his friend's cap in the process. His friend "R Snell", is later found dead under a canal bridge and Paul Banner (Paul Carpenter) is sent by his editor to report on the case. The Common, Southall near the junction with Western Road, with the Grand Junction Arms PH on the other side of the Western Road canal bridge. Identified by Anjano Ginho

Paul goes to visit the dead boy's parents. Unknown location but the same street is used in The Gay Dog where Southall is suggested.

Paul goes to "interview" Arthur Walker (Arthur Gross) who is generally believed to be the killer of, at least, the woman. Hammersmith Bridge Road seen in so many films. Just outside Digby Mansions.
The trees have grown and the parking is now very formal.
