We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. An establishing shot of the BBC's Broadcasting House on Portland Place W1. The famous building appears in several productions including ‘You Made Me Love You’, ‘Death at Broadcasting House’, ‘Once a Jolly Swagman’, ‘The Day the Earth Caught Fire’, ‘Band Wagon’, ‘The Oracle’, ‘The Happy Family’, ‘Mother Riley Meets the Vampire’, ‘Back Room Boy’, ‘The Voice of Merrill’ and ‘Give My Regards To Broad Street’.

Peter capture Broadcasting House on Portland Place.

Hyde Park. Blackmailer Brennan collects money from Sinclair at the car park.

Best view of the Serpentine Bridge as the grass bank behind Brennan has exploded in growth. SJ

Sinclair buys a false beard from a theatrical outfitters run by Ward. Could this be 6-7 Lisle Street, W1? The corbels match. If so RL is right.

Great find from RL. See 010n for evidence.

A more detailed shot.

13 Crisp Road W6 circa 1950

Laurie and Sinclair approach Brennan's lodgings on the investigation. Dave W found the ace up my sleeve before I had time to take the "now", 11 Crisp Road W6 as seen from River Terrace with the distinctive five-storey Caroline Estate blocks under construction. (RL)

Crisp Road, London W6

With the recent redevelopment of the Riverside Studios site River Terrace no longer exists so it is not possible to shoot from further back. (RL)

2 River Terrace, Hammersmith , London W6 Circa 1950

Panning left to follow the Wolseley, and they exit to investigate Brennan's death. And again from Dave, the car has drawn up outside 2 River Terrace. A reverse shot of this location is seen in Capture 41 of Recoil three years later. (RL)

The apartments block is complete but the houses on River Terrace have long gone, as has River Terrace. (RL)

St Paul's, Hammersmith, W6. in the background. The public house is The Cannon at 80 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith W6 which is also seen in 'Deadly Nightshade', 'Cosh Boy', 'Mandy' and 'Home to Danger'. The building was demolished and the area re-developed.(RL)

The consequence of re-development. (RL)

Sinclair as above. "The Cannon", 80 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, W6. Also seen in Deadly Nightshade 004 and Home to Danger 022. Demolished and the area re-developed.(RL)

Now. (RL)

Some rather obvious police trailing of Sheridan. The costumiers they are standing in front of was M. Berman Ltd, 18 Irving Street, London WC2, the premises of whom also appear in the 'Cockleshell Heroes' (capture 36) as brought to our attention by Julian Neal. (RL)

No18 today and an uncluttered shot as Made On Demand Pizza has recently closed its doors. SJ

More trailing. Peter identifies this as Irving Street WC2 looking towards Charing Cross Road.

And here's Peter's proof.

Sheridan in front of some rather grand W8 looking villas. Actually W14 as, seen in reflection, this is the view westwards across Warwick Gardens from the Kensington High Street end, with the Queen Victoria Monument centre frame. (SR)

I had a choice here as the corner, although rebuilt, did present a reflection in the glass but it was too indistinct. So I took a direct shot from the corner and then reversed it for posting here. SJ

A better shot of Ward's theatrical accessory shop.

From Kelly's, F de La Fresnaye No 6 Lisle Street and J H Spasns (Wig Maker) at No 7 so although the frontage has changed significantly I think it is the same. I presume the wig maker did beards too! RL

Sheridan drops off Sinclair at a rural station. Taplow Station in Buckinghamshire.

Taken at the back of the station by Antony Blair.

Taplow Station according to "Glyn Horton's Guide to Britain Railways in Feature Films" says Peter Brown. The station also features in 'Highly Dangerous' and 'Shadow of Fear aka Before I Wake'.

Antony replaces Peter's Google view with this original showing a very cluttered scene.
