Singapore and Singapore River under the titles.

Panning left, and Dave W picks up the eastern elevation of The Fullerton Hotel on Fullerton Road. The ornamental lighting on the central pedestal of Anderson Bridge, and in the distance the spire of St Andrew's Cathedral can just be made out. (RL)

Gazzara walks down the street, comfortable in his expat surroundings.

"This is Amoy Street. I had to walk a bit further down to show the building which provides a good match. This is the International Plaza built 1976 so two years before the film. Obviously most of the buildings in Singapore are new." With thanks to Jon Gregory/JG (SJ)

They come across a death in the street.

A rainy street... Dave W. has vibes about this, "Four lanes one-way with a bus lane. Modest steps down from raised ground behind. Under-utilised plot (as was) across the road. I'll place a high risk "could be" on the area to the side of YMCA hotel at 1 Orchard Road. Re-landscaped now." ...Apologies Dave mentioned this 5 years ago but I was slow to say the least to post. (SJ)

110 Amoy Street.

JG noted a match of windows in a street which has seen many changes.

Gazzara welcomes some US personnel.

JG returned to Singapore and has made some additions to his shots from 2019. This is Amoy Street and the building seen in the distance is the OCBC Centre (completed 1976).

A clearer capture of the OCBC centre towering over Amoy Street.

JG loves this shot illustrating the changes made to Singapore.

The US men walk away

JG finds Amoy Street with the building in the distance matching.

Turning into Raffles

JG found the building unchanged. SJ

Arriving at Raffles's entrance. Beach Road.

JG notes that front of the Raffles Hotel has completely changed.

Reverse pov.

In August 2019, Dave W pointed out that the 'Reverse pov' showed the army barracks on Beach Road, that is now 'J W Marriott - Assembly - Hotel' as evidenced by his Google Earth View, now replaced by JG.

Gazzara and Elliott enter the garden at Raffles.

Note the rising skyline. RJ

Elliott is not feeling on top of his game.

No detail lost. The chairs are still the same. RJ

Jon/JG has narrowed it down to The Read Bridge near Clarke Quay. (SJ)
