Clegg's unloaded gun is taken and held to his head. Ray and Ron have resolved their final challenge for this film and tell us that the Plymouth is in Powis Gardens, London W11 heading south from Westbourne Park Road. Terraces 234 to 228 can be seen in the background, whilst on the left of the capture is the block of units (still existing) angled to the road and the fence in front of the bomb blasted Lady Chapel. (RL)

The fence has now become a wall with railings fortified on top and with a hedge to boot. SJ
- Capture 61
- 16 Jun 2025
A struggle starts as Clegg tries to overpower his captors. Ray and Ron advise that the Plymouth is mounting the kerb outside No. 74 Kensal Road, the rounded brick wall being part of what was the entrance to No. 76, a trade yard that backed onto the canal. All now a grassed and wooded area. (RL)

Richard Bennett faced east on Kensal Road and explains that Trellick tower now stands where the background houses stood in the screen capture. "The southern end of Kensal Road, which followed the curve of the canal, has been straightened and shortened and Meanwhile Gardens now occupy area to the left."
- Capture 62
- 16 Jun 2025
The Plymouth Savoy comes to a halt after almost crashing when the driver loses control. Looking NNW from the trade yard entrance to the Cobden Club at 170/172 Kensal Road, now you can see why Ray and Ron highlighted that rounded brick wall. (RL)

And Tris also provides this shot of the location now.
- Capture 66
- 19 Jul 2018
The cars race through city streets as Clegg holds his empty gun at the innocent driver. Looking along Westbourne Park Road with the Royal Oak public house ahead on the left located by Tris. The pub is seen from a different angle in 'Duffer'.

Tris provides the proof.

Horns blare as traffic moves out of the way. Aidan McManus identifies this as Elgin Avenue in Maida Vale W9, looking towards the junction with Chippenham Road with The Skiddaw Hotel on the right.

Tris provides this comparison shot showing that buildings to the left have been replaced and, standing on the right, the former Skiddaw Hotel which was renamed as The Squirrel before closure.

A side street is seen and Clegg instructs his reluctant chauffeur to turn. Looking along Essendine Road towards Shirland Road in W9 located by Aidan.

The Hermes Point tower block in the right distance of the capture was demolished in 1994 so doesn't appear in this view by Tris.
- Capture 70
- 16 Jun 2025
The two cars speed along a suburban road. The Plymouth, Ray and Ron say, is on Keslake Road, London NW6. (RL)

Richard Bennett made his way to Keslake Road and looked west towards Chamberlayne Road hill in the distance adding "The black railings on the left have been replaced by a brick wall which is the side of the rear garden of 21 Milman Road, on the corner of Keslake Road, which they have just turned into. The Triumph Herald is just about level with number 1 on the left."

Clegg orders the driver to turn into a yard. More late night candle burning from Ron and Ray tells us that this is Blue Circle entrance to the West End sidings, Iverson Road, close to the intersection of Maygrove Road, West Hampstead, London NW6 (RL)

Denis Hoare provides comparative shots whilst remembering things as they were in the film. Blue Circle office now replaced with a new building, though the cobblestones in the road have been retained. Something to be grateful for! (RL)
- Capture 72
- 26 Aug 2021
The Triumph speeds through the yard as Clegg loads his gun. Moving from the previous capture, this is Clegg driving into the railway sidings with the cottages of 202 to 220 Iverson Road in the background. (RL)

From a map overlay, Denis ascertained where the car and the railway truck were most likely located, as well as the direction of the shot. Unfortunately he couldn't get access to what is now a secure Network Rail facility, and had to resort to going around the side to where the entrance of a school is and shooting through 2 layers or palisade fencing. Both he and I think that he very nearly achieved correct angle although the fence masks some of the view. (RL)
- Capture 73
- 26 Aug 2021
The pursuers follow into the yard. Ray and Ron see this this as the Plymouth sweeping down Iverson Road from the bridge on West End Lane and about to enter the Blue Circle gateway seen moments earlier. (RL)

'Memory Lane' for Denis this one, for on the right is the yard of the prestigious builders "Tavener & son", where his father worked for about 10 years in the 90's and he, he feels, helped out too many times! The retained cobblestones can once again be seen. (RL)
- Capture 74
- 26 Aug 2021
Shots are fired at the car, killing the occupants. And finally Ron and Ray take us to the Railway sidings. The high rise buildings seen in the background are each side on Shoot-Up Hill close to Kilburn Railway Station. The tower block is on the corner of Shoot Up Hill and Mapesbury Road. (RL)

Denis advises that it is not possible to achieve an exact comparative shot. Based on the original caption mentioning the background buildings on Shoot-Up Hill, and with the aforementioned access governed by tight ringed Network Rail security he resorted to going onto the West Hampstead 'Thameslink' station for this shot taken from a public gantry across the railway a short distance down the line. Notwithstanding all the difficulties Denis still managed a shot in which the buildings on Shoot-Up Hill can still be seen, just. Sterling work Denis. (RL)

Walking through the grimy tenements, Clegg searches for Jenny Harper, an ex-prostitute. David locates this as the archway leading into Whidborne Buildings from Whidborne Street, seen from Whidborne Buildings Courtyard. The archway in the background leading into neighbouring Midhope House appears in 'Breaking Glass'.

A somewhat brighter picture from David of the same location. (RL)

Clegg makes his way towards the river where Suzy's body is lying. In the background stands St Mary's Church on Battersea Church Road SW11 which was also seen in 'Food foe a Blush', 'Alfie', 'Melody' and 'The Sleeping Tiger'.
A better shot than my effort in July 2016, when the tide was too high, but actually I still need to be further down: gumboots recommended as it's very muddy. SJ
