Murder by Proxy

Casey Morrow (Dane Clark) leaves Maggie Doone's apartment where he awoke after a nights drinking. Blantyre Street in London SW10. The street was also used as a location for 'Man of Violence' and 'Otley'.

Peter took this shot of the same area, which is now part of the 1970s World's End Estate.

Suffering from a hangover, the American crosses the road and heads towards the river. The crossing on Cremorne Road survives but the background buildings have been replaced by the Worlds End Estate.

The night before, Phyllis Brunner had offered Casey £500 to marry her. Facing south-west on Cremorne Road with the River Thames to the left.

Peter found the spot.

Inspector Johnson (Michael Golden) arrives to question the hotel's staff. Outside the Connaught Hotel in Mayfair. The hotel appears in 'The Man Without a Body', 'Behemoth, the Sea Monster', 'A Touch of the Sun' and 'Nothing But the Best'.

Casey returns to Maggie's studio flat. The corner of Cremorne Road and Blantyre Street. The opposite corner was seen in 'Dracula AD 1972'.

Rain pours as Casey heads the the offices of Lance Gordon, Phyllis Brunner's fiancé.

Soon after Brunner's funeral, Casey goes to visit his widow at her husband's flat. Could the grey car be "the" Standard 8?

Casey's taxi draws up outside the apartment building where Mrs. Alicia Brunner was staying to find that she has left the country.

A car begins to follow as Casey drives away. Ron Glenister finds this apparently quiet corner of London to be Casey leaving Hyde Park Garden Mews, London W2 into Stanhope Terrace (No 83). (RL)

Continuity is good as Casey turns from Old Church Street onto Chelsea Embankment.

Lance Gordon's assistant Travis drives at Casey as he walks towards the flat where Phyllis is waiting. As a result of 016 this has also to be Cornwall Gardens, London SW7 (RL)

Travis speeds away after Casey dives from the car's path. Ray and Ron have found this one as well, Hyde Park Gardens Mews, London W2 adding that the demolished houses in Clarendon Place have been replaced by new apartments. (RL) The mews can also be seen in 'Checkpoint'.

Casey takes Phyllis to meet his mother and her partner John. When I walked past The Mitre earlier this year I said to myself "that's a film location!" but it has taken Ron and Ray Glenister to come up with the connection. Lancaster Mews, London W2, thank you both for putting me out of my misery. (RL)
