Children peer through department store windows as Christmas fast approaches. This rather dark and ill defined image may be Selfridges department store on Oxford Street W1.

A butcher's window displays turkeys for sale. Jules Ballantyne tells us that the Butchers were Joyce & Matthews at 110 Brompton Road in SW3. The premises have now been replaced and occupied by the Halifax bank.
Jules provides this comparison noting that the ornate roof-line reflected in the Butcher's shop window can still be seen in the redeveloped premises' window as the buildings opposite still stand.

In Bloomsbury, the Postman delivers an invite to Miss Bridget Gregory. Museum Street in WC1 with the British Museum on Great Russell Street in the background.
