Carol asks her teacher "Miss y' know when I grow up, miss, y' know if I work hard an' learn to read an' write, would you think I'd be able to live in one of them nice places?" Through the window, the Brunswick public house can be seen and Andy Hall explains "The pub was also known as the 'Seven Steps' and stood at 79 Sefton Street in Toxteth, Liverpool 8, next to the old Brunswick station. It seems as though the Brunswick lasted until the early 80s before closing. The building's still there - as are the seven steps."

Sitting down next to Reilly and Digga to prevent them smoking, Mr. Briggs points out interesting buildings that the two lads fail to appreciate.

The urban landscape continues to pass by the coach windows as Linda Croxley (Jaqueline Lucas) is spotted kneeling on her seat to talk to her friend Karen (Sheila Ashes) before being told off by Mr. Briggs who then goes on about her unsuitable attire.

Passing through the Mersey Tunnel and on across the Wirral, the coach heads into countryside. William Kelly identifies this as the B5429 passing through Rhuallt in Denbighshire. This was the main road before the A55 took over in the late 70s but has now become a byway.
William provides this view adding "The house on the left identifies the location and has since had the render removed. The telegraph pole is still there and some of the iron railings remain on the right." Image copyright Google.

Colin (Lennox Graves), a younger, more understanding teacher, spots Reilly and Digga smoking before commenting to everyone at the back of the coach that they should soon be entering Wales. William Kelly locates this as the A41 New Chester Road in Bromborough, Wirral at the junction with the road to Eastham Ferry.
