A Bank Clerk living in an ordinary Civil Servant life starts losing his inhibitions after watching a Hypnotist on stage whilst running an errand for his wayward brother.

Joan Sims plays Henry’s Housemaid, this was Joan’s debut movie. Coincidently her long time ‘Carry On’ partner Sidney James is in the movie too, although they do not appear in any scene together. William Hartnell as Detective Inspector Martin, appears in a few scenes with Jon Pertwee’s character Charley, both went on to play Dr. Who. Watch out for the Bank Clerk Mr Frobisher, played by Lionel Jeffries also in his debut movie.

Henry's brother Charley (Jon Pertwee) arrives at Henry's home.

Realising that Henry's wife has left with an important item in her handbag, Charley rushes out into the street after her, only to see her depart in a taxi cab.

After Medoza's visit to Henry's home, Henry and Charley are seen runing from Henry's home and along the street heading for the Music Hall where Mendoza is, having realised Mendoza has something of theirs.
