If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.
We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Opening shot in this movie shows a street name sign. Yes, it's real . . . opposite Hampstead Heath station at the corner with South End Road.

Not quite as impressive a sign. SJ

The camera pulls back and pans right to reveal August Jacobsen (Robert Marsden) getting out of a 1961 Vanden Plas Princess MkII. The corner of South End Road and South Hill Park in Hampstead. Roy Taylor points out the Magdala public house beyond the fence on the left, which is where, in 1955, David Blakely had been drinking before being shot in the street outside by Ruth Ellis.

Better taken in winter but behind the cars and foliage are the same buildings up South Hill Park. SJ

A woman with her children in a pram approaches August Jacobsen who is waiting to meet someone in the park.

Denis Hoare is not quite sure how he and Simon missed each other as they appear to have been in Hampstead at the same time, however Denis managed to specialise with this shot taken from the path on Hampstead Heath between ponds 2 and 3. Tris points out that pathway also features in 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' and 'The Monster of Highgate Ponds'. (RL)

Tetchkinov (Felix Felton) looks out of his office window. Geoff Dodd positions this as Park Lane, London W1 with Tetchkinov, he believes, looking out from the first floor of the Hilton Park Lane. (RL)

Geoff provides this Google Earth View in support, saying that the shape of the window and its’ frame seems to match with that seen to the extreme right of the Google Street View image, just above 'The Park Lane Collection' on the right hand side of the capture. The railings of the subway seen in the capture to the left can also be seen. (RL)

The Consul veers into the kerb after Charles had gotten close enough to shoot out one of its tyres. Ray and Ron Glenister provide the location as Castellain Road, Maida Vale, London W9 where Sunderland Avenue intersects. Found they say, 'to the efforts of others' and point out that the telephone box is still there. (RL)

A slightly off angle Google Earth View from Ray and Ron in July 2019 to support their findings until someone is in the area... a better angle perhaps replaces the Google but it's the wrong season for a really decent view to compare. SJ
- Capture 25
- 30 May 2022

Again not actually in the underpass but one can just see the top of the monument here. SJ

The convoy emerging at speed from the underpass. Appearing to face west on Knightsbridge SW1A identified by SJ.

Rather awkward to replicate. SJ

Meanwhile, amongst the dock buildings an attacker waits in the first floor window. Shad Thames in London SE1. The area in seen in numerous production including 'The French Lieutenants Woman', 'Clegg', 'Give My Regards To Broad Street', 'Terry On The Fence', 'Pool of London' and 'The Alf Garnett Saga'. (PW)

- 11 Sep 2025

Charles, injured, continues to elude his pursuer through the dockland streets. Ron Glenister apparently became "stuck into" this one and successfully came up with Bull Wharf Lane off Upper Thames Street, looking south and Bull Wharf. All now lost, totally absorbed into re-development. (RL)

Bull Wharf is now lost to a glass-dominated development, which is out of shot to the right. This is Kennett (formerly Kennet) Wharf Lane which runs parallel to Bull Wharf close-by to the east so, torn between a comparison of a foreground or background, I opted for the latter. SJ
- Capture 44
- 11 Sep 2025

Looking for a place to hide and reload his gun, Charles heads towards a pile of boxes. Ray Glenister has persuaded brother Ron out of "retirement" and together they provide this location, High Timber Street, London EC4 looking towards Broken Wharf, more of which appears in 'Inadmissible Evidence'. (RL)

This is the view now looking west. On the right is Upper Thames Street, the widening of which lost the north side of High Timber Street but the south part, the newly built pale ochre buildings in the centre, roughly follows the line of the street which runs to Broken Wharf which also exists in name only. SJ
- Capture 45
- 01 Sep 2024

Charles's pursuer rounds the corner. Ray and Ron say that the corner of Darkhouse Lane and Upper Thames Street, London EC4. (RL)

This is a wider shot to show the changes, modelled by a random Lime Bike, taken from Upper Thames Street. Darkhouse Lane would have run from in front of the concrete support down through the middle of the building to the Thames. To the right runs the new Stew Lane. SJ
- Capture 46
- 01 Sep 2024

The pursuer heads towards where Charles is waiting. Looking north on Darkhouse Lane, London EC4 prove Ray and Ron. (RL)

This is the best one can do with at least the correct direction. Stew Lane is now established slightly west of where Darkhouse Lane once was. SJ
- Capture 47
- 01 Sep 2024

Charles finally gets his man. Between Darkhouse Lane looking east towards buildings in Queenhithe, London EC4 established by Ray and Ron. (RL)
