Johnnie has conspired for his two mates Ben (Brian Weske) and Tom (Stanley Meadows) to act as German representatives to steal a diamond. Having shot Mr Jessop (Philip Ray) and coshed Janine they make their escape. A confused Janine follows shortly afterwards. Dave W locks himself into nostalgia to identify 183 King's Road, London SW3 looking east, the bus stop being the give away and his first days at school. (RL)

An ideal day to stroll along the banks of the Thames.

Suffering from amnesia, Janine manages to take a cab to the films ’14 Southport Street, London E15’ an address that she had found on an envelope in her handbag. That of Johnnie’s brother Louis (Charles Houston). Dave W provides the correct location, Hume Road, London W11, now sadly lost, but the properties opposite are well recorded in London Picture Archive 66321.

Louis does not believe her story and desperately needs money so she makes a run for it. Dave W tells us that Janine is exiting 16 Hume Road, London W11.

Supposedly from East London she finds herself crossing Battersea Bridge. In the distance stands Chelsea Brridge which also features in 'Absolute Beginners', 'Pygmalion', 'The Day the Earth Caught Fire', 'Soapbox Derby', 'Col cuore in gola', 'The Mutations', 'Emil and the Detectives' and 'Up the Junction'.

Significant changes to the riverside background.

Events lead her to “team up” with Mike (Glyn Houston) and they find Louis dead, killed by his brother Johnnie who runs from the scene. As a result of convincing evidence submitted by Dave W during debate it is clear that this is the alleyway, or former alleyway, at the side of (now) 95 St Margarets Road Twickenham in Middlesex. Thus the rear of Park Cottages, to the left, which retain their single storey back additions and here looking north east towards the rear of 14 The Barons.

Howard was presented with a problem with this one as the passageway is now very much private property with a gate across the entrance. Not to come away empty handed he stood in front of 95 St Margarets Road, turned around, and captured this view of the rear of 14 The Barons that appears in the capture.

They too make an escape and hastily cross the road. King Street, Hammersmith London W6

Mike and Janine go to “Joe’s Café” where they first met, but Johnnie is watching. A sign says 'Crown Café' and behind the blind there is the end of the word 'Restaurant'. Luck and a fair wind takes us to 34 Crown Rd, St Margarets, Twickenham TW1 3EH only a short distance from Twickenham Studios. Verified by Dave W. (RL)

The police learn that Johnnie's car has been seen in the vicinity of the stadium and a patrol car goes to investigate.

As the fight between Johnnie and Mike progresses Janine manages to seize possession of Johnnie's gun and shoots him dead just as he is about to strike Mike. The police arrive to wind matters up.

It may well be the wrong angle but Dave was not to know that a high level shot would ever be required. Circa 2014 again.
