Frank (Sean Chapman) has opened the puzzle box and doomed himself to an eternity of pain in a sadomasochistic underworld. In the film this is 55 Lodovico Street but in reality it is actually 187 Dollis Hill Lane, Dollis Hill, London NW2 6EY.
Ross Forbes provides an excellent updated shot of the main house used in the film. It's looking much nicer and welcoming these days!

Ashley Laurence (Kirsty) takes a walk along a dockside on the way to visit her parents. This is The Royal Victoria Dock in London. Since filming it has experienced major redevelopment under the London Docklands Development Corporation and is now a blend of residential and commercial properties. Many of the cranes that Kirsty walks under in the film are still standing.

Having met the Skinless Uncle Frank (Oliver Smith), Kirsty takes his prized puzzle box and runs out of the house. She walks dazed and confused along an unidentified road and past some nuns. This location is identified by David Winner as Claremont Road NW2, close to the film studio on Cricklewood Lane and just north of the junction with Chiltern Gardens looking towards the corner of The Vale. Taken from a similar position by Gary Green who adds that the concrete posts of the fence have now gone but the electrical substation remains. A new tree now blocks the view of the red tiled house across the road just before Chiltern Gardens.
