Time rolls on and with no contact the Rev. Neil goes to Scotland Yard to report him missing. Detectives start “the steady routine of checking and questioning”.

Mrs Neil has a dream of seeing a ruined farm, perhaps by fire and then her son walking slowly towards one of the farm buildings and finally some shots and a man dragging her sons body from the building.

His untiring search continued, day after day, search every bar, every hotel until defeated and discouraged he decided to return home, but then bumps into one of Gerald's friends. Rue de la Huchette 75005 in Paris.

The consequence of Dominic Regan enlisting the help of his friend Chris Dale is that Chris identified this as indeed a genuine French location, in fact Rue de la Huchette 75005 in Paris. The hotel is Hotel du Mont Blanc. Besides this supporting Google Earth View they have also provided a postcard of the same location even before the date of the film and a photograph of the corset shop, as it was, that appears in the screen capture.

Learning that his son definitely did not fly to Paris the Rev. Neil ponders all the options that may have occurred. Is this a French train and location? I believe it might be, it also appears in 'Sleeping Car to Trieste'.
