The film opens in present day London . . . . well, it was present then. Just second unit shots of the City in this feature starting with the often seen St. Paul's Cathedral on Ludgate Hill EC4.

Travelling towards the viewer, a number 13 bus approaches. Cannon Street runs to the left bottom while St. Paul's Churchyard continues to the right. The location is also seen in 'Stage Fright', 'The Lavender Hill Mob', 'The Betrayal', 'Purab Aur Paschim', 'The Hostage', 'Das Verrätertor', 'Kaleidoscope', 'Edward, My Son', 'Tiger in the Smoke' and 'Stranger in the City'.

The camera moves with the bus before the scene cuts to the London Auction House where an old fan in perfect condition is recognised by the elderly Mrs. Erlynne. Cannon Street EC4 with the junction of Carter Lane behind the bus.

Another second unit shot sees a taxi carrying Mrs. Erlynne to the house that she recalls from years earlier. Prompted by childhood memories Dave W places this as Half Moon Street, London W1 looking towards Green Park. The blank plaque above (extreme left property) the first floor now says "Flemings Mayfair". (RL)
