Bumping into her brother in law Alexander Lynch-Gibbon (Clive Revill) outside, the two exchange pleasantries. RL places this as South Audley Street, London W1 which is seen in a number of productions including ‘Follow Me’, ‘Bullseye!’, ‘Morgan, a Suitable Case for Treatment’, ‘Stage Fright’, ‘The Grass is Greener’, ‘You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger’, ‘A Touch of the Sun’ and ‘Keep It Clean’.

The majolica elephant in the window is still there as Thomas Goode and Co. has been here since 1845. SJ

Having argued with Georgie at their last meeting, Martin returns to her studio. Facing north-west on Putney Embankment with the floodlights of Craven Cottage across the Thames in the right distance. The location also features in ‘Robbery’, ‘The Big Sleep’ and ‘The Sandwich Man’.

In a wharf alongside the Thames, Alexander and Georgie search for a suitable block of stone together. Alan Bourke locates this as the Marble and Granite Works at Carrara and Willowbank Wharves off Ranelagh Gardens in Putney SW6, looking across the Thames towards the buildings of A.G. Spalding and Deans Blinds on Deodar Road. The south end of Putney Bridge is just visible on the right.

Leaving Palmer sitting beside Georgie's hospital bed, Martin tells Honor that he loves her whilst giving her a lift home. David Ainsworth identifies this view as facing the Half Moon Hotel from the BP petrol station on Lower Richmond Road in Putney SW15.

Returning to the location, David captured the scene from what is now the Sainsbury's Local forecourt.
