Some chat about the Rubicon, actually the river Mignone, from a schoolmaster to a class including the young Fellini. The castle is the Borgo e Castello di Rota, east of Civitavecchia and north-west of Rome.

An extra capture provided by Manuel Gurtner who explains, "Shot at Bracciano station, located on the Roma-Capranica-Viterbo branch line, the night train bound for Rome makes a short stop. We see one of the FS class Gr 740 tender loco from the Roma Trastevere engine shed, which runs the scheduled freight trains between Rome and Viterbo into the middle of the 1970s. Beyond the tracks the apartment blocks along Via Udino Bombieri can be recognised. By the way, between Bracciano and Bassano Romano can be find one of the filming locations of "Von Ryan’s Express" (see Capture 30)."

The young wistfully watch a train departing to Rome... Manuel adds, Shot at Bracciano station, with the goods shed visible in the background. In 2010 the freight yard was dismantled while the goods shed was converted into a warehouse.

A young Fellini fulfils his wish to move to Rome in the 1930s... Manuel, "and arrives in October 1938. But in fact this is on the sound stage 5 of Cinecittà, where Fellini has recreated the entire area of his first residential address in Via Albalonga, including a running tram by using MRS type motor car nr. 2045 of the then ATAC (Azienda Tramviaria Autofiloviaria Comunale)."
