A long shot which tends to suggest that Leigh spent more time in the studio rather than explore Rome. Possible double work.

But St Peter's Basilica and Square, Vatican City is the real thing. Taken form the north-east point of Bernini's four Doric column-deep colonnade. SJ

Leigh rides in the park to be met by Beatty. This is one of the Fontane Gemelle di Valle Giulia, also known as Fontana delle Tartarughe (not to be confused with the one seen earlier) in Villa Borghese. Found opposite La Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, jus down the road from the Museo Nazionale Etrusco seen in The Great Beauty.
