Pete Quilliam (Carl Brisson) lowers his sails and looks with pleasure at his home town as he nears the harbour walls. Polperro, Cornwall.

Philip Christian (Malcolm Keen), a life long friend is there to greet him. Polperro harbour looking across to the properties on The Warren. The property over Philip's (HIS) right shoulder is that in Capture 5, right.

Pete throws his catch ashore at Philip. Clearly no fish quotas in those days. Polperro harbour wall again looking towards the properties on Quay Road.

Philip and Pete warmly shake hands at the quay side. Polperro has also featured in 'Miranda', 'Mad About Men', ‘Break in the Circle’, ‘Another Time, Another Place’ and ‘Behemoth the Sea Monster’.

Kate Cregeen (Anny Ondra) agrees to wait for Pete as he sails off to Africa to make his fortune. Supposed to be Liverpool.

Shortly after Pete’s departure Kate and Philip start to meet on a regular basis

With Pete supposedly killed the relationship between Kate and Philip develops but Pete returns having made his fortune. Supposedly Liverpool again and with same harbour wall bottom right.

Kate skips away from the inn to meet Philip….

Charles Barr provides this shot revealing just how little has changed in 90 years.

…to look down to the beech. Charles advises that this is in fact Perranporth, on the north coast of Cornwall, contemporary newspaper reports confirming.

Charles also provides this photo that he took at ground level of the same location showing much of the rock formation having now collapsed. The distant gap in the background rockface however still remains.

They embrace, only for him to tell Kate of Pete’s imminent return. Perranporth, on the north coast of Cornwall

Pete sails into port. Spotted by William Kennedy who lives on Vancouver Island, Canada, this is Douglas Harbour on the Isle of Man.

Pete and a very disconsolate Kate marry. Shortly after, they learn that Philip is to return to the Isle of Man and most likely be appointed Deemster, the island's chief magistrate. Polperro harbour. This would appear to be on The Warren looking across the harbour to properties on The Warren to the right and the main harbour wall behind Pete and going out of the capture lower left.

Kate insists on seeing Philip before the fleet and Pete returns in order to tell him that she is expecting his baby. Niarbyl Bay, Isle of Man advises William Kelly who point out that this is the very same cottage used as Ned Devine's home in 'Waking Ned'.

Having broken the news to Philip, Pete makes his way home. On his arrival Kate tells him the news but not who’s baby it is. William Kelly believes this to be in Cregneash village on the Isle of Man with the land visible in the distance, out at sea, being the Calf of Man.

Philip is appointed as Deemster. Included for completeness and whilst it might be a studio set it looks more realistic than some parts of the film.

Kate leaves Pete telling him that the baby is not his. It could be an interesting and enjoyable visit finding this spot.

She walks down to the quayside and attempts suicide. Polperro harbour wall and ‘old Caesar’s Inn’ on the right once again

Having come before Philip in court for the attempted suicide the truth outs, Philip resigns his post and he, Kate and the baby head off for a life together. This cannot surely be too far out of town and the cottage has a similarity to capture 23 which William Kelly identifies as in the village of Cregneash.

As a result Pete is left to continue is life as a fisherman alone.
