Storyline:
Popular radio presenter Carroll Levis (playing himself), and Kay Sheldon find themselves entangled in a web of smuggling and murder. When a priceless “brass monkey” is stolen from a Japanese temple and smuggled into England, Levis encounters the eccentric Mr. Ryder-Harris, a Buddhist art connoisseur, who’s chasing the artefact, and will apparently stop at nothing to get it. The monkey is missing and there is a suspicion murders are being committed in the hunt for its retrieval. Discoveries radio talent, Levis attempts to avoid murderous henchman Peter Hobart and foil Mr. Ryder-Harris’s plans. Amongst all the mayhem, an array of musical and comedy performers audition for and appear on The Levis Hour, the hero’s weekly radio program.

Max Taylor (Edward Underdown), with the Brass Monkey in his suitcase, is travelling with his finacée Kay Sheldon (Carole Landis) to Southampton.

Having met Carroll Levis, her long standing friend on board, Kay agrees to meet him at his office in London the following day. Westminster Bridge, London.

The Cunard White Star Line ship docks and Peter Hobart (Herbert Lom) goes to watch the arrival of Max with the brass monkey. However, Max gave the monkey to Kay who in turn gave it to Carroll.

They drive off on to the road. Additional shot to help establish the location. Peter advises that this, being the massive Solent Flour Mill (owned by J.Rank - thus providing a suitable cinematic link!), places this as the Western Docks at Southampton (where the Cunarders, see Capture 1, usually did not dock). The car is emerging from between berths 104 and 105 berth (near the present day Mayflower Cruise Terminal). (RL)

It looks like a genuine signpost…but is it in the correct place? The third arm shows a place ending in “….BRIDGE 10”. (Could that be Stockbridge?) They eventually find themselves back in a series of studio situations where the plot unfolds.
