Johnny Flanagan (Tony Wright) wins a fight at ‘Sharkeys Boxing Academy’. Sharkey (Sid James) and Charlie Sullivan (John Slater) believe he is good enough to be professional and introduce him to Giuseppe Vecchi (Frederick Valk) who insists that they all live and train at his home. Steve Randall has found this now lost residence known as 'The Fishery' on the banks of the River Colne. During the 1930's it was owned by Alexander Korda but was later demolished in the 1980's

With Johnny’s training suffering because of his relationship with Lorna she threatens to kill herself.
