White Trap, The

As Paul Langley climbs from the water after swimming across a river, a group of Prison Warders with dogs appear.

A black maria arrives to transfer the recaptured Langley to another prison. The rear of the studio complex on Station Road in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

The journey to the railway station gets under way. The roundabout at the junction of Arthur Road and Goswell Lane in Windsor, looking along Goswell Road towards one of the Windsor Gasworks gasometers with Windsor & Eton Central station in the right distance and the The Noah's Ark public house on the left. The location also appears in ‘On the Beat’, ‘Cat Girl’ and 'Carry On Cabby'.

Steve Randall's capture shows that the area around the roundabout has been redeveloped.

Panning with the van brings the southern section of Goswell Road into view with Arthur Road to the right as seen from what could be classed as part of Denmark Street.

Here, we are looking into Grosvenor Place from Oxford Road in Windsor with Edward Square in the centre background.

The shot follows the black maria as Langley uses a nail to unlock his handcuffs. Oxford Road, facing the junction with Peascod Street in Windsor, Berkshire.

Steve Randall visited the centre of Windsor for this first in a series of comparisons.

The prisoner props up the unconscious Guard before trying the rear doors as the Driver brakes sharply when the traffic lights ahead turn red. Facing the corner of Clarence Road and Dorset Road in Windsor.

Try as he might, Steve Randall couldn’t fit the top of the tall streetlamp in.

When the traffic light changes to green, the queue of cars begins to sound their horns while the Driver of the black maria checks on his prisoner and escort. Looking east along Clarence Road from the corner of Alma Road.

Steve waited for the lights to go green.

With the Driver under pressure, the black maria pulls away. The junction of Clarence Road and Alma Road.

Although he waited, Steve Randall gave up waiting for this set of lights to change.

Driving over the crossroads, the van's journey continues. Looking west along Clarence Road from the junction with Alma Road.

The black maria arrives at the station. Windsor & Eton Central station off Themes Street in Windsor.

Steve found that the station had been heavily bannered in celebration of one particular local resident.

Coming to a stand, the Driver (Arthur Howell) gets out to open the back doors of the van. Windsor & Eton Central station features in many other productions including 'Left, Right and Centre', 'That's Your Funeral', 'Lease of Life', ‘Hands of the Ripper’, ‘Carry On Loving’, ‘Two Way Stretch’, ‘Lease of Life’, 'Upstairs and Downstairs', 'Doctor in Distress' and ‘Doctor in Trouble’.

The platforms have given way to retailers and restaurants in Steve's shot, but the skylights and girders suggest the spot.

Once the doors are opened, Paul Langley (Lee Patterson) punches the Driver and makes a bid for freedom. Windsor & Eaton Central station.

As word reaches Inspector Walters about the escape, Langley jumps over a garden wall.

The fugitive climbs the back wall of the building where he lived in a flat with his pregnant wife Joan to find that she has already left for the hospital.

Inspector Walters, Sergeant Morrison and their men are driven to Langley's flat. Facing south from the northern end of the triangle on Grange Park in Ealing W5.

Expecting Langley to turn up at the hospital, Inspector Walters runs through arrangements with Dr. Hayden (Jack Allen). Keith Roach recognised Mellow Lane School on Hewens Road in Hillingdon, Middlesex where he was a pupil until 1959.
