If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

Following the opening scene of a Class 55 Deltic locomotive hauling a fast express train through wooded countryside, a more sedate journey by local train comes to an end as Dr. Robert Todd and Olivia Ogden are taken away from the station by ambulance after becoming entangled during an inappropriate act on public transport. Westcliff-on-Sea station on Station Road, Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex. The Queen's Hotel to the top right was demolished in 1989 and has since been replaced by an uninspiring residential block.

The replacement background can be judged in Jon Wennington's view.

Leaving the station forecourt, the ambulance is followed by the camera until it disappears from view. Looking east along Station Road in Westcliff-on-Sea where all but one of those shops have been converted to residential use.

Roger Sligo returned to the location to take this modern view. It's not often that we see less cars parked than there were years ago!

The patients are taken to Banham on Sea General Hospital, coincidentally the hospital where Dr. Todd is taking up his first post. The Victoria Hospital at the corner of Seymour Road and King's Road in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex.

Jon Wennington discovered a completely different look at the location now.

A trolley is wheeled out by Carthew (Graham Stark) as the ambulance reverses up to the door. Facing the Victoria Hospital from Seymour Road.

After the new intern is separated from Olivia by her father Dr. Ogden, a panning shot starts on a road above Banham on Sea's beach. Clifton Drive, Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex with Western Esplanade and the Thames Estuary below to the left.

Jon Wennington captured the location now.

Moving to the right, the camera finds the cab bringing Dr. Todd to his new lodgings. Clifton Drive, Westcliff-on-Sea with Overcliff at the corner of Manor Drive in the background.

Jon Wennington turns to the right.

The car comes to a stand outside Mrs. Arkwright's boarding house. Facing number 1 Clifton Drive with number 2 on the right.

There are changes in Jon Wennington's shot but the buildings remain recognisable.

A Neighbour (Barbara Mitchell) tells Dr. Robert Todd (Nicholas Field) that Mrs. Arkwright is down at The Hard. Outside numbers 1 and 2 Clifton Drive, Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex.

Jon Wennington took a picture of the altered doorway.

Walking around the yard, Dr. Todd checks the names of the yachts and boats.

Standing beneath Cleopatra 1000, the Doctor is soaked when Helen Arkwright empties a bucket of water from the deck.

Dr. Todd is rushed back to hospital after falling from Helen's yacht after a romantic encounter. Facing the corner of Seymour Road and King's Road in Westcliff-on-Sea.

The same corner captured by Jon Wennington.

The ambulance turns into the hospital forecourt. Seymour Road, Westcliff-on-Sea.

Jon Wennington found that the vehicles reflect the passage of time.

During treatment for an embarrassing predicament, the Deputy Mayor (Ronnie Brody) ends up rolling from the hospital on a trolley before reaching the high street. Facing northward on Hamlet Court Road in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex.

A few changes are apparent in Roger Sligo's comparison.

A Police Sergeant (Peter Butterworth) can't believe what he sees as the trolley and it's passenger coast by. This is the alley running between the Queen's Hotel and number 29 Hamlet Court Road with a property standing on Ditton Court Road in the background.

With a loft conversion, the distant building still stands in this shot from Jon Wennington.

As his journey continues, the Deputy Mayor covers his head to hide his embarrassment. Looking northward on Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff-on-Sea with Canewdon Road crossing in the background.

Jon Wennington found a more tropical scene.

The Police Sergeant and his Colleague begin to pursue the unfortunate Man. The junction of Hamlet Court Road and Canewdon Road.

The same corner by Jon Wennington.

When the trolley tips over after colliding with a heap of boxes, the Sergeant gets out of the car to ask questions. Hamlet Court Road with posts marking the forecourt of the Queen's Hotel to the left.

On the left of Jon Wennington's image we see that the painted wall sign has been obscured and similar pillars remain as a gesture.

An incident involving a frog, a fishing net, a nudist camp and a croquet mallet result in another trip in the ambulance for Dr. Todd. Facing north on Seymour Road.

More parked cars in Jon Wennington's comparison.

Carthew asks the Doctor if it would be easier for him to take the ambulance with him whenever he goes out. Looking towards King Road from the forecourt of the Victoria Hospital on Seymour Road in Westcliff-on-Sea. The hospital's site is now occupied by the Kingsmeade apartment block.

Olivia drives Dr. Todd from the hospital after he completes surgery on a patient. The chosen mode of transport is a Triumph Spitfire, recognised by Alan Edgar.

The Triumph Spitfire follows the camera car as it circles a roundabout.

The quality of the film stock changes suggesting that this sequence features pick up shots taken somewhere other than Westcliff-on-Sea . . . . and here is Coval Lane in Chelmsford, Essex located with the help of Phil Bacon who found the viaduct in the following view.

Phil captures the view now explaining that, apart from the houses on the right, everything here changed in the 1985 when the A1060 was extended as part of the Parkway 3 project which resulted in the demolition of the houses to the left in the screen capture.

Continuing from the previous capture, the camera follows the car to find a railway viaduct. Phil Bacon identifies the scene as looking south-east along the A1060 Parkway in Chelmsford with the trees in Central Park visible through the arches of the viaduct, one of two just south of the railway station.

Phil provides this comparison shot of the viaduct.

The road comes to an end and Olivia loses control of the Spitfire before running into a patch of fresh cement.

Church bells ring out signalling the marriage between Miss Olivia Patricia Ogden and Dr. Robert Todd. Crowstone Congregational church at the corner of Crowstone Road and Kings Road in Westcliff-on-Sea. The entrance has since been redesigned.

Inside the church, the Vicar presides over the ceremony in which the Bride and Groom are encased in concrete. Crowstone Congregational church on Crowstone Road, Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex.

Jon Wennington angled his shot to avoid the new addition to the entrance.
