At Easy Ways garage in Borehamwood, the proprietor Mr. Davis (Ben Williams) overcharges a customer.

Davis is called to the phone for his instructions from Rover. The sign above the door reads Auto-Port.

With a ticket in his mouth, Trigger wheels his heavy luggage onto the platform. Stanmore Village station at the junction of Gordon Lane and Old Church Lane in Stanmore, Middlesex.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright ask the Attendant for a berth to be told that there are none available on the fully booked train. Stanmore Village station had closed to passenger traffic in 1952, three years before appearing in this production, and would be seen again in 'Bluebeard's Ten Honeymoons' made in 1960.

The Night Express passes over a viaduct shortly after the long journey begins. As the train speeds southward, Rover and George Phillips go over the plan to throw the gold from the train when it reaches the moors. On the platform stands an illegible LMS "Hawkseye" style nameboard.

Davis's accomplice Sam (Sam Kydd) hammers on Charlie's front door to collect the third member of the gang.

As Sam is told that Charlie has already left, a Police Sergeant approaches to see who's causing the noise.

After the Sergeant tells them to clean the van's numberplate, fix the side lamps and raise the tailboard, Davis and Sam continue on their way to the moors.

As the van drives away, the Sergeant notices that the rear number plate doesn't match the front one.

The overnight express thunders on.

On board the train, Bob walks to the Guard's van to find Jacques Dubois, the subject of his newspaper story.

Taking Mr. Dubois along, Bob returns to Mary in the buffet car.

The train's Guard is overpowered by Rover and George, who dresses in his uniform.

As Dubois agrees to tell Bob and Mary the story of his life, Pearl enters Rover's compartment holding a gun. The signal box name board identifies this as Kilburn No.1 which stood to the south-west of Kilburn High Road station below Canterbury Road in NW6, which is now Coventry Close.

Recognised as Herman Raut by Bob, the German offers his sleeping compartment to the reporter and his wife. A level crossing and a signalbox can be made out in the darkness of this scene which is taken from 'The Man in the White Suit'.

While Trigger, his partner Ruby Labelle, Raut and Jacques play cards in the buffet car, the Night Express crosses a bridge over water as Pearl returns to Raut's compartment where she finds Bob and Mary.

Followed by Pearl, Raut makes his way to the Guard's van.

On the road to the moor, a Motorcycle Policeman stops Davis and Sam for speeding.
