Larry Hart (Lee Montague) and Alan Roper (John Thaw) pick their way between Sunbathers along the shore of a lake.

Crooked bookmaker Hart listens as Roper outlines a plan for a £60,000 robbery.

Being blackmailed by compromising photo's taken in a flat where Roper's girlfriend Pat was babysitting, Deighton (Ewan Roberts) arrives for a meeting. Inside the gardens of York House in Twickenham, Middlesex identified by Richard Lovejoy (RL) and confirmed by Antony Blair (AB).

Roper tells the insurance broker that he wants a copy of Larry Hart's policy conditions. The gardens at York House on Richmond Road, Twickenham recognised by Antony Blair and Richard Lovejoy simultaneously.

John Lea (Brian McDermott) leaves Hart's betting office after taking pictures of the premises. This is Kenlor Road in SW17, which also appears in 'The Rivals'.

Checking the outside of the shop, Lea spots the burglar alarm before moving to the side of the building where he locates the power supply. Kenlor Road in Tooting, as given away by the scrap yard's sign on the left.

Roper makes his way to the caravan where Pat and Lea are waiting.

Waiting a little longer, Roper meets Deighton who eventually turns up with the paperwork for Hart's house, not the shop. Richard Lovejoy identifies this as the footbridge at York House Gardens in Twickenham, Middlesex and Antony Blair concurs.

Al Myccock (Ian Curry) climbs out from beneath a damaged car as Lea arrives at his garage. The name displayed on the building is Elmbrook Garage. Richard Lovejoy (RL) discovered that the premises are on St. Dunstan's Hill at the corner of Sunningdale Road in Sutton, Surrey.

Richard Marum provides this comparison which is off angle to show the top of the garage's surviving front wall.

Getting out of the Vauxhall Estate, Lea crosses to the proprietor to ask for a set of registration plates and some dynamite. RL found that the garage stands at the corner of St. Dunstan's Hill and Sunningdale Road and is still trading.

After preparing a sedative, Roper and Lea head to Hart's house. Located by Richard Marum, this property stands on Bathgate Road SW19.

Richard provides this proof for his identification.

The two villains walk to the front door of the house to find that there's no one at home before adding the sedative to a bottle of milk on the doorstep and returning that night to open his safe. Looking from the garden of number 64 onto Bathgate Road, found by Richard Marum.

Lea returns to the shop after the last race the following day to cut the power to the burglar alarm. The bend at the eastern end of Kenlor Road SW17.

Suspecting that the telephone box may have been a prop, Richard Marum advises that its position is immediately behind the World war II Lambeth Civilian Casualties Memorial in Lambeth Cemetery.

Called by Pat after a signal from her boyfriend, the police are sent to the bookmakers. The western end of Kenlor Road with Blackshaw Road in the left background and the Grove Hospital beyond.

New background buildings stand in Richard Marum's comparison and the hospital is now known as St. George's.

Through the rear window of the Vauxhall Estate, Roper and Lea see the police car arrive outside the bookies as they flee after setting off the explosive. Facing south on Kenlor Road.

Pat gets into the car when the two men arrive.

Led by Inspector Davis, the police begin to investigate the attempted robbery as Roper and Pat drive away after Hart arrives home with an escort. Bathgate Road, Wimbledon SW19 discovered by Richard Marum.

After Hart moves the shop's cash to his own safe at home, Roper, Lea and Pat return to the house. Richard Marum identifies this as the corner of Bathgate Road and Queensmere Road.

Now visible in the background of Richard's comparison are properties on Royal Court beyond the the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club courts.

Discovering that the safe's combination has been changed, Roper returns to the car to give Pat further instructions. Bathgate Road with the corner of Queensmere Road in the left background, found by Richard Marum.
