US Airmen Butch Halliday (Harold Lloyd Jr.), Slowburn Jenks (Jon Pertwee) and Joe Turner (Peter M. Thompson) walk through the base where they are stationed before being stopped by an AP Sentry (Stewart Mitchell).

While the three jokers tell the AP that they have a date with Marilyn Monroe, an Orderly (Pat Connor) calls them over.

As Joe is taken to the Colonel's office where he meets Mr. Kimp. a British solicitor, Butch and Jenks worry about their pal.

Given the news that he has become the 9th Earl of Beveleau, Joe flies across the Atlantic with Kimp, Butch and Jenks.

Arriving at London Airport, Joe becomes the first member of his branch of family to set foot on English soil since the Mayflower sailed to America. To the left stands the Memorial to Sir John Alcock and Sir Arthur Whitten Brown by Mr. William McMillan RA which commemorates the first men to make a non-stop air crossing of the Atlantic. The statue was unveiled in 1954 and is now located at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey.

Mr. Kimp (Reginald Beckwith) leads the three Airmen from the airport. Nick Boorman recognised the the BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) hangar on Cranmore Lane at London Airport.

While Joe orders beers all round, Angela (Noelle Middleton) cycles past the parked Rolls on her way to look after the village shop whilst Mrs. Horrocks is away. facing north-west on Holloway Lane.

After reluctantly drinking mild ale in the pub, Joe enters the shop next door to buy ice creams. Holloway Lane in Turville.

Leaving the village, the journey to Joe's country house continues. Steve Randall identifies this as Cliveden Road, Taplow in Berkshire with the gates to Cliveden House out of view to the left. Malcolm Tinnelly informs us that "At the time the film was made, Cliveden House was still the home of the Astor family and the circumstances surrounding the infamous Profumo affair were yet to unfold."

On his way home, Malcolm pulled off the road at the junction. "It's always a busy stretch so there's no chance of stepping onto the road for a better angle."

After Joe is properly introduced to the Duke's daughter Lady Angela, Captain Bertram Maltravers (Guy Middleton) joins the party for a game of croquet following refreshments. More of Hughenden Manor found by Steve Randall.

Downhearted after learning that Angela is engaged to Bertram, Joe returns to Beveleau with Jenks, Butch and Kimp. Outside Hall Barn House, Windsor End to the south of Beaconsfield identified by Steve Randall.

The annual rugby match between Fontenham and Beveleau takes place.

As Joe practices golf on the lawn, Mr. Kimp arrives to complete the formalities for him to take his place in the House of Lords. Located by Steve Randall, this is Hall Barn House in Buckinghamshire. The property also appears in ‘Take a Girl Like You’, 'Anoop and the Elephant', 'Bedazzled', ‘Chariots of Fire’ and ‘Nobody Runs Forever’.

The Duke of Fontenham and Angela look on as Joe gets ready to mount Midnight, a particularly temperamental horse. The stables at Hall Barn House, Windsor End, Beaconsfield identified by Steve Randall.
