Paul Temple’s Triumph

As the titles play, a car leaves the gateway of a large country house before speeding away along darkened roads.

The car pulls up outside the home of Professor Hardwick where Ernie (Gerald Rex) and his Accomplice get out. Mary French brings to our attention that this is 'The Croft' that was on Bridge Street near Nettlefold studios in Walton-on-Thames. The building also appears in 'Park Plaza 605', 'Madame Louise', 'Morning Call', 'Flannelfoot', 'The Naked Truth', 'Old Mother Riley Headmistress', 'Operation Diplomat' and 'Trouble with Eve'. (RL)

After Celia Hardwick reports her father is missing to Steve Temple, the two women make their way to Northolt Airport where Paul is about to arrive after a lecture tour in Germany. Northolt Airport on Western Avenue in Hillingdon, Middlesex.

Having discovered a clue at the Hardwick's house, Paul and Steve return home before setting off for the New Forest.

While driving between Lyndhurst and Beaulieu in Hampshire, the pair remove a fallen branch from the carriageway after almost hitting it.

On the road to Bournemouth, Paul parks outside a shop and the two enter to buy cigarettes. Church Square, Shepperton in Middlesex with St. Nicholas’ church in the left background. Nick Boorman couldn't move the cars to get a better match.

Back on the road, Paul allows a Lagonda to overtake before being stopped by the occupants Dr. Van Draper and Major Lindsey who ask to take a letter that the couple are carrying as a favour for Hammond who they met at the shop.

The couple call at the Boldre Grange Hotel to find Mr. John Richmond, the intended recipient of the letter. The Oatlands Park Hotel at Weybridge in Surrey identified by Nick Boorman.

Entering the hotel, Paul and Steve take a room after learning that Mr. Richmond is staying there but has gone out. Nick Boorman recognised The Oatlands Park Hotel on Oatlands Drive in Weybridge.

Angling the view to capture the entrance, Nick avoids the car and the tree.

Settling into their suite, the pair see the Lagonda that stopped them earlier.

Caught out by Paul Temple and Sir Graham at the hotel, Jacqueline Giraud (Jenny Mathot) is arrested and taken to the station by Inspector Crane (Joseph O'Conor) for a train to London. Clandon station in West Clandon, Surrey identified by Andy Crispe.

Escaping custody with the help of Major Murray, Miss Giraud gets into his car and makes her getaway. Andy Crispe advises that this is Clandon station on Station Approach, West Clandon which is confirmed after additional research by Jonathan Horswell.

An express speeds through the station as the Inspector gains consciousness before picking up the telephone to call Temple. Cross-referencing old maps with photographs and the general track layout, Jonathan Horswell confirms this to be Walton-on-Thames station in Surrey.
