In London, Deputy Controller Gerald Wilson asks questions about Laird's experiments before hearing Brigadier Cartwright's recommendation that the laboratory is shut down. Whitehall SW1 with North Block, containing the Home, Foreign and Commonwealth Offices, filling the scene and the Cenotaph to the extreme right.

In the village of Bryerly Bay near the laboratory, a Tramp appears from the woods. Looking through lych gate of St. James's church on Church Street, Shere in Surrey, seen in a number of films including 'On the Fiddle', 'Monster of Terror', 'The Earth Dies Screaming', 'Bachelor of Arts', 'Die Monster Die' and identified by AE.

After a spell of freak weather conditions following the latest experiment, Helen Forsyth (Patricia Sinclair) arrives by train to take up a teaching position at Bryerly Bay before making her way to a coach stop in the woods where she is attacked by the mutated Tramp. Bricket Wood railway station on Station Road, Bricket Wood in Hertfordshire. The station also features in ‘She’ll Have to Go’, ‘Night of the Demon’, ‘The Cuckoo Patrol’, ‘Up the Creek’, 'Murder in Reverse?' and ‘Impact’.

The station building is long-disused, and is now the only surviving original building on the Abbey Line. (SR)

In the village, Jimmy Murray (Hugh Latimer) stops his car to speak with Helen Forsyth and Jane Hale. Anthony McKay locates this as the National Studios backlot in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire with the rear of properties on Eldon Avenue visible through the archway to the right.

After Jimmy asks if a Mr. Smith has been seen in the area, Jane takes Miss Forsyth to St. Mary’s School. Geoff provides the location as the gatehouse of High Canons on Buckettsland Lane. (RL)

Denis Hoare 'just happened to be passing' and managed to get this shot for us. The windows have been changed and the foliage and gates prevented him getting a better shot, but the entrance can still be seen through the bars on the gate. (RL)

Worried about the large insect egg that her daughter found in the woods, Mrs. Hale shows it to Dr. Laird's new assistant Michele Dupont. Geoff also pinpoints this for us, Back Lane, Letchmore Heath, Hertfordshire. In the distance can be seen the frontage of 'The Old Rest' protruding from the rest of the building line. (RL)
