Quantum Of Solace starts 10 minutes after the end of Casino Royale. Bond’s search for answers behind Vesper’s betrayal leads him to uncover QUANTUM, a sinister organisation whose tentacles spread across the globe, with double agents buried within the British government, MI6 and the CIA. Evidence takes him to Haiti, where he meets Camille. She is an agent who has her own vengeance-fuelled agenda, to avenge her family’s deaths at the hands of former Bolivian dictator General Medrano. Posing as the girlfriend of faux-environmentalist Dominic Greene, she becomes suspicious of his land acquisition and business relationship with Medrano. With Bond by her side, they discover Greene is part of QUANTUM, an organisation that is secretly appropriating all of Bolivia’s water supply and replacing its left-of-centre president with a more pliable leader.

If you have any information regarding this production, the locations or, even better, some comparison shots please contact us. Images submitted must be in Landscape orientation, as would be seen on the cinema screen, not Portrait.

We are aware that there are films on the site that were added when the criteria for the inclusion of locations was very different from today and, as a result, there may be scenes missing from some productions. Please do not forward additional screen captures to us but bring the detail to our attention, for we do, and are, 're-addressing' these older entries as time allows.

First two shots are showing the dramatic coast line of Lake Garda, along the bottom of which runs the "Gardesana Occidentale” or state road 45 (SS 45 bis).

  • 'Now' required

Some websites are incorrectly saying this location is the other side of the Lake Garda on SS 249. This shoreline is in the Trentino (North) section, just up the road from the Surf Hotel Pier. Riva del Gardo, Italy. The interior tunnel segment where Bond’s car spins was filmed to the East side of the Lake, as the different concrete canopy supports show (IJ)

  • 'Now' required

With Bond attempting to escape with Mr White (Jesper Christensen) the chase comes out of the tunnel...this is still along the SS45bis. This exit tunnel, heading north, is just down the hill from the Village Hotel Lucia & Maison du Pralonc.

  • 'Now' required

Continuing on the same SS45bis Via IV Novembre, the chase heads towards what genuinely is the next tunnel on that road from the previous shot. But before that you can see the left turn that the cars are about to take onto the Strada della Forra, a steep, narrow road with mountain tunnels offering picturesque views of lake and adjacent peaks.

  • 'Now' required

Despite the previous few shots being geographically accurate with each other, this shot is where movie magic allows the chase to jump around 303km (188 miles) from the previous shot. The Aston Martin comes out of a double tunnel and speeds down Via dei Colli. The exact spot is about 700 meters west of the Passo del Vestito.

  • 'Now' required

With the police also now involved, the chase heads into a quarry. This is the marble quarry near the city of Carrara in the province of Massa and Carrara in the Lunigiana, the northernmost tip of modern-day Tuscany, Italy. Carrara marble has been used since the time of Ancient Rome.

The taxi pulls up at the intersection of Calle 16 and Calle H in Santa Ana in Panama City. This is meant to be Bolivia so one of the local extras on the right has a traditional bowler hat (or derby hat as it is also known) and the mountains in the background are a digital addition to the shot.

It was a popular hangout for Panamanian ruler Manuel Noriega. When Noriega's regime was toppled in 1989, the building was abandoned and left to decay. This is also part of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) hotel at Cerro Paranal (or Residencia) in the Antofagasta region of Chile.
