Following Holmes’s deduction that Professor Moriarty is responsible for the death of Silver Blaze’s trainer and the Colonel’s stable hand, Racegoers arrive by train for the Barchester Cup. Newbury Racecourse railway station on the line between Newbury and Thatcham in Berkshire.

As can be seen in David O'Donogue's comparison from platform level, there is absolutely nothing left of the original station buildings or bridge.
