Returning home with recovered blueprints, British agent Carlton travels on the Night Ferry from Paris as it approaches Neuve-Chapelle on the way to the French Coast.

A whistle sounds before the locomotive draws away from the station and the journey to Dieppe continues. Manuel Gurtner recognised the firebox of a Collin-Super-Pacific 4-6-2 tender loco from the Chemin de fer du Nord (NORD) which is standing at Calais Maritime station in Calais, Pas-de-Calais.

Carlton is murdered by the Agents after he hides the blueprints in a trunk bound for London. Manuel Gurtner presumes that the loco is one of the NORD Bréville Super-Pacific 4-6-2 locos with with 37 A type tender and found that, after passing through Caffiers station, the Calais bound train will pass under the bridge that carries the Wissant road over the main line. It seems that, in the meantime, the tracks have shifted more towards the middle and are now flanked by two industrial sidings, which serve a gravel works at Rety and the quarry at Ferques, both located in the Pas-de-Calais department.
